MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) - The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus passed a draft law “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on military and technical cooperation” on 19 June, BelTA has learnt.

The agreement was signed during Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich’s visit to Bangladesh in November 2012. The document specifies military and technical cooperation in several areas.

These areas are the production and modernization of military equipment and control, communication and electromagnetic warfare systems. The document also provides for the joint work to create new radio-electronic military equipment and weapons and other special-purpose equipment as well as technologies to design and produce such products.

The document also stipulates the exchange of specialists to carry out defensive R&D work, develop and produce military equipment and also transfer technologies. The agreement includes the provisions that guarantee the safety of information that will be obtained in the course of such cooperation. Official and commercial secrets will be protected, too.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee Vladimir Sulimov noted that military and technical cooperation with Bangladesh began in 2005. “During this time the value of the contracts that are underway or have already been implemented has reached several million dollars,” Vladimir Sulimov said.

Mikhail Myasnikovich is set to visit the People's Republic of Bangladesh in July 2013. The Belarusian official will seek to establish an intergovernmental commission on military and technical cooperation, which will be a boost for two countries’ relations in this sphere. Some groundwork has already been carried out in this area concerning aviation, armored vehicles and optics.

I would very much like to know what it mean in actuality. What are we going to develop together? What tech will be transferred to BD?

I wonder if we can get tech to get an missile programme up and running.

Bangladesh and Belarus bhai bhai :kiss3:

I think this is a positive development. Bangladesh could help Belarus become a European power through ToT and imparting some of the technical expertise. Belarus should feel lucky.

Belarus is a great country in Europe. I think we can be great partner for our future development. Belarus is a country from where we can borrow
technologies more cheaply. We can consider it second Rush. So its great news that we got another Rush friend.

India also went into joint ventures with Russia and the Zionist entity.... BD making steps to acquire technology the fastest way it can.... Your sarcasm is worth nothing.... Keep at it ..... We will progress regardless...

Don't you have any shame? India is bigger Bangladesh, have more natural resources & been Independent about 25 years longer than Bangladesh, still "Poverty in India is widespread, with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor. In 2010, the World Bank reported that 32.7% of the total Indian people fall below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 per day (PPP) while 68.7% live on less than US$ 2 per day."

Do better than become sarcastic about others.

Agreed brother, I was not being sarcastic, I truly believe BD is the new economic superpower in South Asia. I don't understand why you are comparing slumdog India with BD :undecided:

Does Belarus have up to date tech to share with Bangladesh:what:? If they have do they share with us:what:? If they do where they will transfer the tech:what:, we do have any advanced research center:what:?

At first we must have a good govt. or getting tech from Belarus is just waste of time and money:tdown:. Some of our leaders may give the tech someone else for free;), you know what I mean:devil:.

One assumes belarus has defense tech from the soviet era. These may be old but they can form the base for BD. We are just starting and as such this is probably good enough.
