KARACHI: A loud explosion was heard in Karachi’s Clifton area near the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi on Monday, DawnNews reported.

The explosion shattered the windows of buildings in the vicinity and damaged two automobiles and three motorbikes parked near the site of explosion.

The bomb was fitted on a motorbike parked near the Chinese consulate area, SSP South Asif Shaikh said.

No loss of life had been reported, he added.

Police cordoned off the area as investigations went underway.

Adviser to home department, Sharfuddin Memon confirmed the blast while talking to DawnNews and said that information was received of terrorist activities taking place during the month of Ramazan.

Blast near Chinese Consulate in Karachi, no casualties reported

KARACHI: A blast occurred near the Chinese Consulate in the Clifton area of Karachi on Monday, Express News reported. No casualties were reported.
Express News reported that a bomb had been planted on a motorcycle parked near Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. The institute is located right next to the consulate.
One car and up to three motorcycles parked nearby were reported to have been destroyed as a result of the blast.
Rescue teams and security personnel were dispatched to the site.
Earlier, the office of a construction company located in the nearby Khayaban-e-Shamsheer area of DHA had come under attack by extortionists. A cracker blast had left one person injured.

there is a sudden increase in bomb attacks in karachi , some groups are targeting rangers and police during the last week at least 3-4 explosions took place also i think yesterday another bomb was found and later defused by BDS.

Target killings are on full fledge a large no of baluch men were killed in many different areas , these could be connected
 

The reader comment on this tabloid news site says it all...

Express Tribune sensationalizing news as usual, the area is not only host to the Chinese consulate, the consulates of Russia and Kuwait are also located there.
And by the way, Clifton is a posh area that has been targeted before, the headline seems to imply as if the Chinese consulate is the only major landmark that exists there.
 
in Beijing we also have embassy area(使馆区),where all the foreign embassys built together.
