LAHORE: China’s Qinghai province has announced plans to establish a Business Development Centre in Lahore, as an effort to take trade relations to new heights by aggressively exploring opportunities for joint ventures in various sectors.
The revelation was made by World Handmade Carpet Organisation (WHCO) Chairman Major (retd) Akhtar Nazir Khan Cooki while talking to the media. He said that the director general of the Nanchuan Industrial Park in Xining city of Qinghai province is going to launch a Nanchuan Industrial Park Business Development Centre (BDC) in Lahore on Oct 7 (Sunday) on Raiwind Road.
The Business Development Centre is being set up to connect thousands of Pakistani entrepreneurs with leading Chinese entrepreneurs and investors, so that they may share experiences and discuss business trends. This will lead to cross-border investment in both the countries, Cooki said.
He said that a nine-member delegation currently on a visit to Pakistan, headed by Nanchuan Industrial Park Director General Huang Guojun, will meet BOI Chairman Saleem Mandviwala in Islamabad on Oct 5th.
Cooki said that Chinese investors are interested in investing in mining, marble, energy, chemical and other potential economic sectors of Pakistan, and will meet with different industrial giants in this regard.
