Canada (and possibly even Australia) to surpass India in 2013

^^^ I look around there are no Indians here. Oh I know why, because there is no 7-Eleven here.

In calender year 2012, India's GDP was valued at $1.842 trillion while Canada's and Australia's were valued at $1.821 trillion and $1.542 trillion, respectively.

The IMF has now projected that India's GDP will fall to $1.758 trillion in calendar year 2013 (a fall of $84 billion), while Canada's will reach $1.825 trillion.

This is the 2nd year in a row that India's GDP has fallen. India's GDP fell by a little over $30 billion in calendar year 2012, compared to 2011.

If we factor in India's recent currency devaluation, the total GDP for calendar year 2013 could be as low as $1.5 trillion, falling to Australia's estimate for 2013. Either way, India will fall either to 11th or 12th place in the year 2013.

 the fall you have mentioned in the beginning of the post is due to currency value drop only. With you last statement, you are double counting the currency impact.. :)

Say what you will,

But Australia and canada are just awesome countries

Both Australia and Canada will face serious recession and social issues in the decades to come , unless they pursue all their indian and Asian immigrants to go back home like they're doing in the UK , even if they do they will go down in history as vultures and thieves like how Dubai is deporting all their migrant workers ; the US however has more sensible immigration policy whereas the growth and assimilation are slower but more steady.

So, here's what the final score is looking like in the China vs. India Nominal GDP Competition 2013:

China's GDP is expected to rise by around $1 trillion, while India's GDP is expected to shrink by $84 billion.

Interestingly enough, back in 1981 India's GDP ranked as the 10th largest ($196 billion) in the world while China's GDP ranked 15th ($168 billion) for the same year.

However, by 1982 China overtook India jumping to the 8th position and never looked back ever since.

This is for my Indian neighbours. Know this and keep it in your head.

* Between 1980-1989, India's Nominal GDP ranking fluctuated between the 9th and the 12th position.
* Between 1990-1999, India's Nominal GDP ranking fluctuated between the 12th and the 16th position.
* Between 2000-2009, India's Nominal GDP ranking fluctuated between the 11th and the 14th position.
* Between 2010-2013, India's Nominal GDP ranking fluctuated between the 9th and the 11th position.

Next time when a Super Power tries and tells you that you will be the new Super Power soon, take it with a pinch of salt.

All this super power BS was fed by Goldman Sacs when it came up with BRIC countries and their growth projections. As with any analysis they missed their mark with respect to India.

India with its corrupt politicians is the sick patient who has to be resuscitated with a good dose of fiscal discipline. I don't see that happening with respect to India because of elections and have to wait and see who comes to power.

why?

,unless they pursue all their indian and Asian immigrants to go back home like they're doing in the UK
why?

, even if they do they will go down in history as vultures and thieves

Vultures and thieves don't work and pay taxes.

like how Dubai is deporting all their migrant workers ;
Because Dubia is in recession.

the US however has more sensible immigration policy whereas the growth and assimilation are slower but more steady.
The U.S immigration policy is basically open doors.

It's not so simple buddy, they are free to deport them all, if they do, it will be their loss too, remember, these people work and pay taxes and are accepted there on the basis of merit......
