Canadian Air Force officially Chooses 65 Lockheed F-35A

I heard on the news it will be 16 billion and from an retire air force pilot we are going for f22 but third squadrons will be under American controal

Yes if Canada wants they can spend a whole lot of money on weapons but they really have no real threat and Canada chooses to spend its money on healthcare and education instead

9 billion for f35 and estimated 9 more for maintainence LOol Canada EH!

Canada started rapidly updating its army and and air force since the Afghanistan war.

But is your government expecting JSF to get involved in Afghanistan since CIA's drones are doing quite an effective job taking care of terror in the bordering regions by providing a big margin of safety for potential risks that manned fighters face from handheld rockets.

If at all Afghanistan is the focus, then you guys should've got some Predators and Reapers as well apart from JSF.

65 F-35 for 9 bln => 138.5 mln per plane. Thats virtually the same price as in Israeli deal (20 F-35 for 2.75 bln => 137.5 mln)

It was a big question raised in your air force as your Lavi designing head was not pleased with JSF's price. But then are you planning to go ahead with complete JSF fleet or considering an alternative because @ @132 million apiece you're not going to be able to replace your entire fighter squadron.
