Chandrayaan 3 - a curtain raiser by ISRO

Lungis should be happy, demand for ISRO logo chaddi and tshirt will go up, so BD exports will increase..

lets not even try comparing ourself with Russia, they put a man in space in 1960s, when we were stilll figuring out how to make house out of cow dungs. Even the Luna 25 craft exhibited several techs that we are a decade or maybe decades away from. We had to use that slingshot method to get to the moon, while they did it in a few days due to a heavier launcher, which is still a dream for isro scientists. Russia sends people almost every few months to the ISS. They failed once like we did with chandrayaan 1 and will succeed the next time. They can do it literally next year if they like, but it will be couple of decades before we have a human rated craft going every few months to space.
We majorly lack in powerful rockets, else we would have directly inserted CY3 into the lunar orbit, no need to sling-shot. Hopefully after the development of NGLV, this issue will be resolved. But we also need to keep in mind is that space exploration is not our priority as of now. Once we have a decent PCI(above 10K) we can dream of fully exploring the space. Even today we have very low launch rate. For now its mostly pride mission to inspire newer gen of Indians to get into space sectors.

Please delete this message man, its not needed. This is something every one of us can enjoy.

No need to delete it !

It’s bitter truth ! It hurts me a lot, but truth is truth.

Keep going on path of success India despite all the problems you have !
We Pakistanis are happy to go on the regression path despite having all ressources.

We had a similar news In 2019 that China has landed on the far side of the moon for the first time in history and today India became the first nation to successfully land a spacecraft near the Moon’s South Pole.

Can someone please explain the difference between both the landings?

Far side of the moon is the side which is not visible to us since the moon is tidally bounded to earth (Each time that the Moon completes a turn, it also orbits the Earth once, keeping its far side perpetually hidden), south pole is simply the south pole like that of earth. And CY3 has not landed on south pole, but close to it!!

Other side is the one that is not visible from the earth and remains dark, basically the opposite side of the moon that is visible to us. While south pole is, as one can guess, south pole.
