China declares first space docking successful

Commander-in-chief of China's manned space program Chang Wanquan announced Thursday morning that the country's first space docking between spacecraft Shenzhou-8 and Tiangong-1 space lab module was successful.

Systems working properly after first space docking

Equipment and systems have been working properly since the initial joining of the unmanned spacecraft Shenzhou-8 and the space lab module Tiangong-1 at 1:36 a.m. Thursday, China's manned space program spokeswoman Wu Ping said.

The coupled spacecraft has orbited earth nearly six times since the successful docking, Wu told a press conference here.

a major stepping stone for chinese space expansion. looking forward to the moon base in the coming decades, followed by a base on mars and beyond!

The average age of the Chinese manner-space project team is 32,that's a big advantage.They still have a lot of room to improve.In the coming years we can expect more and more achievments from them.
