China needs to stand its ground and has enough courage and strength to do so. The ship fleet of the Chinese Fishery Administration stood its ground in the Diaoyu Islands frontline to protect Chinese fishermen and safeguard their rights during the period of Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day of the People's Republic of China (PRC) from September 30 to October 7, 2012. The Chinese Marine Surveillance ships were also patrolling the waters off the Diaoyu Islands to safeguard China's rights.

Japan is not accustomed to this. While putting on unjustifiable interference and protest, Japan even acted as if it were the aggrieved party. Nevertheless, what purpose could Japan's various performances serve except for letting out the self-boredom inside itself? It's perfectly normal for the ship fleet of the Chinese Fishery Administration to protect Chinese fishermen and safeguard their rights in the waters off the Diaoyu Islands, and for the Chinese Marine Surveillance ships to patrol the waters off the Diaoyu Islands to safeguard China’s rights. The reason is very simple: the Diaoyu Islands and its subsidiary islands are part of China's inherent territory. The Chinese Fishery Administration has normalized the fishery-protection patrol in the waters near the Diaoyu Islands and its subsidiary islands since as early as 2010. Not only will the ship fleet of the Chinese Fishery Administration continue to stand its ground, but the Chinese Marine Surveillance ships will also stand their ground.

China needs to stand its ground in this manner. Otherwise, China's territorial sovereignty and legitimate right and interest could never be truly maintained, and Chinese people wouldn't be able to celebrate the festive season securely and happily.

It's in total compliance with the guidelines of international laws for the ship fleet of the Chinese Fishery Administration to stand its ground in the frontline of the Diaoyu Islands in order to protect Chinese fishermen and safeguard their rights, and for the Chinese Marine Surveillance ships to patrol the waters off the Diaoyu Islands in order to safeguard China’s rights. It can be deemed as a regular action. Japan must learn to adapt to these regular actions of China. The sooner Japan adapts, the more helpful it is to resolve the issue of the Diaoyu Islands through diplomatic negotiations. It will be more conducive to the improvement and development of Sino-Japanese relations.

Some people with ulterior motives try to associate the issue of the Diaoyu Islands with that of the South China Sea, and presumptuously claim that China is not as mild as it used to be, but is tougher. Please allow me to ask: What kind of China do these people really want to see? Is it a China that would let other countries to violate its territorial sovereignty and infringe on its legitimate rights and interests? That is by no means a "mild" country, but a bullied country rather. The kind of China bullied by others has long gone.

What would be the point of China's fast development in the last decades if China were even unable to maintain its own territorial sovereignty? How could China be able to make a greater contribution to the peace and stability in Asia as well as the rest of the world? Aren't some people so ready to talk about "China's responsibily" and demand China to play a greater role in various issues? The century-long history has already proven that a poverty-stricken, ever-weak and long-exploited China bullied by foreign powers won't have the power to take on any responsibility, and won't have the strength to promote the development and progress of the world.

Whether they accept it or not, the fact is that China has indeed grown strong and become an upright big country. China is the driving force behind the growth of world economy, a contributor and practitioner for the concept of "building a harmonious world with ever-lasting peace and common prosperity", and a country that stands fast for its territorial sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests.

China needs to stand its ground and has enough courage and strength to do so.

I dont know who is right and who is wrong in this entire conflict, but if I were Japan, I wouldnt militarily try to compete with China.
