China's total foreign trade volume has exceeded the whole of last year as of mid-November with a jump of nearly 15 percent, posting double-digit growth for two consecutive years, according to General Administration of Customs.

This is due to frontloading. People are buying stuff up this year to avoid tariffs that will come in effect next year.

Right now there is 25% on $50 billion.

And 10% on $200 billion worth of imports.

Next year this 10% will increase to 25%, and there may be further new tariffs on remaining amount of Chinese imports.

That's what they have been saying for the past 3 months !
Perhaps its because tariff have not much effect. There is just no alternative to made in China.

LOL frontloading, how long have we been hearing that?

As the months continue to go by, maybe people will realize what economists figured out a long long time ago. That trade policy has little effect on a Current Account deficit, which is primarily about an imbalance between savings and investment.

But politicians love to "boost spending", see Trump's trillions in tax cuts, and massive new spending plans despite the USA already having the worst budget deficit in the world by miles. Because spending tends to make up the majority of GDP growth, giving a short-term boost to employment and income. And politicians love short-term results.

But boosting spending means a reduction in saving. Therefore increasing the Current Account deficit, increasing the budget deficit, and ballooning national debt. Which are all reaching record highs in the USA as we speak.

What Trump is doing is not rocket science, he is simply "passing the buck" down to the next generation. Whereas doing the right thing, i.e. taking back control of the trade deficit, the budget deficit and the national debt, well that doesn't win votes. Nobody is going to wait around for a decade or more to see those results, they want results now. And Trump is giving them exactly the headlines they want, which is why he will win again in 2020 and further sink the USA into isolationism.

Nobody in the USA wants to tighten their belt, with regards to the national deficits, the national debt, or even the fast food on their plates. They want to spend and eat, more and more every day, and they wonder why their bellies (and deficit and debt) keep ballooning out of control. They know why, yet they can't stop themselves.

Correct, in the end of 2019, when the trade go down 20%, Cnese here will find some good excuse to comfort for their loss

Thats the reason why coward Xi keep begging for negotiation wt Trump in G20 meeting

But despite all the money Trump has spent, Americans' life expectancy is decreasing again this year.....

Talking about life expectancy, it just hit me that CHinese govt is allowing Fentanyl exports from CHina because it hits US with death and addiction, making the US population less efficient. Just saying.

Fentanyl is one of the best painkillers in the medical world. If you get into a car accident then you'll be thanking the heavens if the emergency services have any fentanyl on hand.

But who the Hell asked Americans to mix it with cocaine and heroin and kill themselves in such huge numbers. It's not as if they don't understand just how dangerous it is to do something like that, they know perfectly well. It's just the new age version of a Speedball (cocaine + heroin), nothing new.

Comrade Viva_Viet.

You should be more appreciative of China. China is helping Vietnam develop by investing in Vietnam. A prosperous China will make Vietnam more prosperous and vice versa. I wish all the best to Vietnam. After all we are all Asians.

Have a nice day.

Its good if Cn keep helping VN, but its bad if CN beg for support from JP-US to attack VN again like in 1979.

If CN collapse, then No one else will attack VN to stop our expansion anymore, bro.

Unfortunately, Have you read the news? The so called 25% increase in tariff is cancelled, or not implemented for now. So no new tariffs in January.

Americans are not worthy of being trusted. Americans will certainly continue to restrict and sanction Chinese companies on the grounds of so-called national security.

china is offering them the same deal as in their first meeting by buying more energy and farm goods to cut down trade deficit. the majority of their ridiculous demands are still no deal. lol. trump gonna tell his fans on twitter this is 'big win for amalika. :D great again :enjoy:

Americans are not worthy of being trusted. The US government is more and more like Megatron in the real world who does not tolerate diversity and Trump is a mental patient. In the eyes of the US government Megatron, there is only offenses and a strategic truce for further offenses.
I swear in the name of my ancestors that I will never buy an Apple phone and any americain products in my life as far as I can(I earn 70000 USD per year).
