vs Saddam

International monitors and prisoners who witnessed his dreadocracy report that under Saddam's direction, some inmates were branded, given electric shocks to their genitals or beaten. The fingernails of some were pulled out. Others were hung from rotating ceiling fans, raped or burned with irons and blowtorches. Guards dripped acid on the skin of some and often denied prisoners food and water. Saddam would force people he considered traitors to watch videotapes of their children being tortured or their wives raped.

while Only 2% of Sunnis questioned believed it was absolutely or somewhat right to have invaded, while 78% said it was absolutely wrong. By comparison, 70% of Shia respondents said the decision to invade Saddam Hussein's Iraq was absolutely or somewhat right and the Shia are in the majority.

and china cant tell the differance, they think that was just Hypocrisy Over Tibet that is scary isnt it.

You just have to bring him into the picture, don't you?

Do you want to see how many non-China related protests are there in the world for his hypocrisy. I guess you can not see that deep, do you. So let me help you with.

Lesson learned here is one does not always mean what one says.

These are just wet dreams of the Chinese military,

they dont have the guts nor the resources to challenge the US for next 50 years, and before they reach any where near that capability the US will neutralise any advantage.

Power projection is not about brute strength it its also about alliances and the only allies china has been able to build in 50 years are Pakistan and North Korea.

Good to see the chinese are also prone to chest thumping antics . it shows their insecurity :yahoo:

i hope US president think the same as you. lol:smitten:

USA can also retaliate by sending more arms to Taiwan.
Recognise the Dala Lama.
Restrict Technology to China.
Restrict the sale of Chinese products to USA.
Americans can boycott Chinese Goods.
Encourage others to boycott Chinese Goods.
Print more american money.
Increase the broadscasts by voice american into China.
Point out to the Chinese with the present level of censorship
that they are being treated like mushrooms by being kept in the dark and being fed crap.

dont list so much, and dont mess with china ,it's not afhan.

Looks like the USA is already messing with China, Obama meeting with the Dala Lama , sending advanced weapons to Tawian, sending a nuclear subs to the China Sea along with air craft carriers, now what are you going to do about it.

The list he provided is quite entertaining. Wish he could provide more because at end of the days he is making himself looking like a .....

I wish they could. Because in the end, those weapons will end up in hands of PRC anyways. I totally approve US selling F/A-22 to ROC. Even wonder why US is only selling them second rated weapons? Look into the history, how many of US's weapon had gone into PRC's hands through them. By the way PRC and ROC's relationship is going, more of those weapon are welcomed.

Recognise the Dala Lama.
He need no recognizion as he is recognized by everyone on this planet. Try to convince your government recognize Tibet instead, then see what happens.

Restrict Technology to China.
As if US is selling any advanced technology to China right now. Do you know how many Chinese firm acquiring US high tech company has blocked by trade commission?

Restrict the sale of Chinese products to USA.
Americans can boycott Chinese Goods.
Encourage others to boycott Chinese Goods.
Print more american money.
Great idea. While this might hurt China in short term, but I love to see American's living standard going down in the toilet in the long run.

Increase the broadscasts by voice american into China.
Another great idea, and they definitely should, look how wonderful that had done in 2008. Chinese all over world had never been united like that ever before. Those broadcasts did something that CCP's propaganda machine could only accomplish in its wet dreams.

If you don't believe, just read this article.

No need, if you read the article you will know why.

When people began rioting in Lhasa in March, Tang followed the news closely. As usual, he was receiving his information from American and European news sites, in addition to China’s official media. Like others his age, he has no hesitation about tunnelling under the government firewall, a vast infrastructure of digital filters and human censors which blocks politically objectionable content from reaching computers in China. Younger Chinese friends of mine regard the firewall as they would an officious lifeguard at a swimming pool—an occasional, largely irrelevant, intrusion.

To get around it, Tang detours through a proxy server—a digital way station overseas that connects a user with a blocked Web site. He watches television exclusively online, because he doesn’t have a TV in his room. Tang also receives foreign news clips from Chinese students abroad. (According to the Institute of International Education, the number of Chinese students in the United States—some sixty-seven thousand—has grown by nearly two-thirds in the past decade.) He’s baffled that foreigners might imagine that people of his generation are somehow unwise to the distortions of censorship.

“Because we are in such a system, we are always asking ourselves whether we are brainwashed,” he said. “We are always eager to get other information from different channels.” Then he added, “But when you are in a so-called free system you never think about whether you are brainwashed.”

Why are you picking on India? Can't you have a debate with the Americans without dragging in India? Or are you a Pakistani waving a Chinese flag on this forum ?

That is the key, I couldn't have said it any better after having lived in both systems and witnessed the media from both sides.

If there is any comfort here. Even though US is sending Washington CV to join the exercise, they will keep the carrier group in the Sea of Japan instead of Yellow Sea.

By EVAN RAMSTAD

SEOUL—The U.S. and South Korea will conduct a major antisubmarine training exercise starting Sunday, the defense chiefs of the two countries said Tuesday, as part of their response to the sinking of a South Korean ship earlier this year.
[USKOREA] Reuters

Robert Gates and Kim Tae-young

The exercise, which had been delayed to pursue a diplomatic response to the sinking and then partially moved in response to criticism from China, will involve a U.S. carrier group that includes about 20 ships and 200 planes.

"These defensive, combined exercises are designed to send a clear message to North Korea that its aggressive behavior must stop, and that we are committed to together enhancing our combined defensive capabilities," U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and his South Korean counterpart, Kim Tae-young, said in a statement.

Messrs. Gates and Kim met for about an hour on Tuesday, in advance of a larger meeting on Wednesday with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan.

South Korea and the U.S. have been planning the exercise since a South Korea-led investigation in May found the ship, the Cheonan, had been sunk by a torpedo fired by a North Korean submarine. Forty-six South Korean sailors died in the March incident, which the North has blamed on the South.

But the militaries in early June delayed the exercise to allow diplomats from the countries to press the United Nations Security Council for a resolution condemning North Korea. The council earlier this month produced a statement that condemned the attack but avoided direct criticism of North Korea, a compromise needed to prevent a veto by China, the North's chief political ally and economic benefactor.

China's government repeatedly expressed anger about the prospect of a U.S. carrier group undertaking training exercises in the Yellow Sea, which separates China and the Korean peninsula. U.S. officials said they had the right to train in international waters anywhere, but they opted to keep the carrier group in the Sea of Japan, known in South Korea as the East Sea, for next week's exercise.

On Wednesday, the four senior officials will visit the inter-Korean border known as the Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ, and meet in Seoul to discuss other matters.

U.S. presidents and individual cabinet members have routinely visited the DMZ. The trip on Wednesday will mark the first time during the Obama administration that such a visit has taken place.

Mr. Gates on Tuesday visited Camp Casey, a U.S. outpost very close to the DMZ.

Mr. Yu, in an interview on South Korea's YTN-TV, said Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Gates may reveal new U.S. sanctions against North Korea on Wednesday.

Mr. Yu told the interviewers that South Korea viewed North Korea's recent call for the resumption of six-party nuclear disarmament talks as a way to distract attention from its role in the ship's sinking. He said South Korea isn't interested in meeting in the six-party forum until North Korea takes responsibility for the incident.

"It is very important that the North admits to its role in the Cheonan incident and apologize, as well as pledge not to repeat similar behavior," he said.

lol what are you 9 years old? Are we going to meet under the flag pole after school? Are you going to "jack me up"?

Thankfully these decision are neither to you or me but are in the hands of smarter and cooler heads.

Honestly how many of us really want to see a war btn China and USA???.

I guess none. So I give a damn to what the Chineese Gen said.
either he is on crack to say he will attack US carrier if it enteres international waters....

Indeed the decision was made by someone smarter as the US decided not to let the Carrier group enter the yellow sea to avoid any unnecessary confrontation.

<Chinese Maj. Gen. Luo Yuan, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences, told a Hong Kong TV station Monday, “If a U.S. aircraft carrier enters the Yellow Sea, it will become a living target.” Unleashing hard-line comments, he said, “Just as we’d block a snoring person from approaching one’s bed, can we allow other people to perform a sword dance right in front of our door?,” adding, “China is not fish but a tiger lion.” The official Chinese daily Global Times also said that if the U.S. aircraft carrier USS George Washington enters the Yellow Sea to participate in a South Korea-U.S. anti-submarine drill, China must take "decisive action.">

You're all fu&king dickheads for believing this fu&king article written by a fu&king Korean. Maybe his mandarin is fu&ked up he misunderstood what the general said.

If you read and understand at what he said he didn't specifically mention that the carrier will be incinerated entering the Yellow Sea.

What he suggested was for the PLA as one of the three powers in this world is not to let the USN escape without paying the piper.

There are many things the PLAAF and PLAN jointly can do to make a US aircraft carrier as living target.

A living target DOES NOT mean the target needs to be obliterated, destroyed, or attacked.

If there is truly a full scale war between the US and China that aircraft carrier would be attacked as soon as it leaves Yokosuka. It would be too late for China to attack US aircraft carrier 200 miles from the Chinese coast.
