Chinese naval escort taskforce dispels suspicious vessel at night

In wee hours on December 20, the 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce successfully dispelled a suspicious vessel which had been approaching the taskforce after more than 3 hours of observation, monitoring and guard.

At 0:17, the operation officer on duty aboard the “Zhoushan” warship reported: “An unidentified vessel is spotted in the right front of the taskforce. As it has no navigation light, the ship automatic identification system catches none information of the vessel and no answer returns despite repeated calls.

“All signs indicated that that was by no means a vessel in normal operation. The taskforce command post immediately order the “Qiandaohu” warship which was on the right side of the taskforce to strengthen observation and vigilance and well prepare for emergency handling.

15 minutes later, the suspicious vessel still paid no heed to the persisting calls of the taskforce and continued to approach the taskforce. The “Qiandaohu” warship immediately accelerated to occupy the space between the suspicious vessel and the merchant ship fleet and spotlighted the suspicious vessel with search light.

Unclear of the vessel’s intention, the “Zhoushan” warship commanded the merchant ships to adjust the navigation direction for four times and keep a safe distance from the suspicious vessel. Finally, under the repeated intimidation of the “Qiandaohu” warship on high alert, the suspicious vessel turned left and sailed away from the Chinese taskforce.

Good. a lesson for Indian BSF here!

What ??? :what:

Any way since you had also once said "Sri Lanka should invade Tamil Nadu and make it an integral part of Lanka", I give this post a pass.

was it an anti piracy operation? It appears to be. what on Earth does it have to do with the BSF?

PLAN informed Sri Lanka Navy (SLN Anti-Piracy Command Center) regarding this unidentified ship & SLN headquarters in Colombo immediately communicated this information to other navel ships of other navies that operates in the region.

PLAN navel ships were on highest alert after this incident

I earlier tried to post the news but PDF not working

What is up with the pirates these days? They are getting more and more aggressive.

INS Delhi and Kolkata would have used their US Harpoon and Israeli-Russian Brahmos against the somali pirates. Then they would launch the Israeli Barak anti-aircraft missiles.:rofl::rofl:

"Dispels"? What kind of navy is that? Even old men in fishing boats can "dispel" pirates with water jets or such.

What happened to the days when they opened their cannons on any pirate ship they see and blew them out of the water?
