Actually in scale and investment, it's not comparing to last years' Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

In the end of the report, they indeed interviewed some Hangzhou locals, none of them said the money was spent on "misplaced priority", I wonder how the report got this "misplaced priority" idea?

The resulting overhaul culminated in the publication last year of the New Era series textbooks. Instead of reading about western culture, students are required to translate into English paragraphs that describe their “super confidence” in the nation’s literary achievements or reflect on how the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics “impressed the world”.

Only you play terror games. And Beijing Winter Olympics leave superb facilities for we Beijing locals, it's fully worth it when average people can easily access to the world's best sports facilities.

Next Asian Games will be in Japan, Qatar, and then Saudi

Asian Games pretty much not inferior to Olympic Games in term of scale and grandeous.

I think we should celebrate this Asian showcase rather than criticizing it.

China games overtake Olympics in size

The Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, has now drawn more athletes than the Olympic Games -- yet there is minimal coverage from the so-called "international media". Reuters' headline is hilariously negative, while Asian voices in media and social media are hailing the event as extraordinary -- in particular, the opening ceremony.
