Could Pakistan and Afghanistan go to war?

Dude, aren't they already at war with each other? It's more a cold war (although I'd argue it couldn't get any "hotter"), but it's war enough ... it's just being conducted in such a clever manner that those of us who aren't directly involved aren't willing to recognize it.

Do you even know what a cold war is?

Can't wait for Indian Army to go to Afghanistan - The Pashtun might have to rename a mountain or two, how about 'India Kush' ?
I am sure you have heard of the etymology of 'Hindu Kush'.

Why not send them now? Join Nato and get a pat from the Yanks?

you saw what happeend to soviets....british; hell NATO couldnt even "tame" them

what in Gods name will the bloody indians be capable of in Afghanistan pray tell

Afghanistan doesn't have much of a army, nor economy to conduct any kind of war...

3/4 of their army are drug addicts and deserters.....they hip fire and dont even aim straight...half the time they cant even figure out how to unjam their AKs and based on accounts by those who are "privy" -they are notorious for fighting amongst eachother

TTP however does pose a threat....but then again, our forces are dealing with them effectively from one theatre to the next

Don't worry world is not going to leave Afghanistan alone.. Afghanistan will be supported at every level, by all means and by the major forces of the world..

It will not be allowed to go back now..

We dont need to send our army to Afghanistan to hurt Pakistan. Your own citizens are doing a pretty good job at killing your soldiers at the Af - Pak border...

There's no chance in hell that Afghanistan will even think of an all out war with Pakistan. The Afghan Army is mostly a rag tag circus. For war, an army needs artillery, missiles, Air defence and most importantly an air force for close air support and interdiction.

Afghanistan has none of these. Then, they aren't in the same league as the PA which has the experience of fighting conventional wars. The only thing the Afghanistan army can do is to get the TTP on its side to wage a guerrilla war against Pakistan, restricted to the areas near the AfPAK border. Whether the TTP would align with the Afghan Army is a moot question.

Would the US and the Afghan Army form an alliance to wage a war against Pakistan? Most unlikely. At least not at the present juncture. But considering that the US of A has its eyes on Balochistan, this cannot be ruled out in the future.

Yeah. Maulvi Fazalullah sitting in Afghanistan and lauching attack on the Pak-Afghanistan border. Barahamdagh Bugtti sitting in Kabul and launching attacks in Baluchistan. Keep dreaming of US never abandoning Afghanistan and keep your assets well defended. You will see the results in a couple of years. :)

Afghanis tend to forget this episode in history. They assume that all Pushtun want to be a part of their God forsaken country it will be better for both parties if they just accept Durand line as IB.

You have got that right my friend. Afghanis who came to pakistan as refugees after the soviet occupation are still in Pakistan and refuse to go back to their God forsaken country.

Stop acting like a child. One day or another NATO has to leave Afghanistan. I have no objection if you are dreaming of US keeping his hundred thousand soldiers in Afghanistan, a country in which 60% of its territory is "practically controlled" by Talibans at the day time and 72% at the night....... You should seriously think to tackle Talibans before sending your troops to protect your assets. And in such case we already know the results.
