I read the Quran just to understand the Islam better way, I had found in the Second Surah that, there is particulars mentioned for the Slaughter the Cow, Hence all types of cows are not permissiable to slaughter. I go throw the web Surat Al-Baqarah - The Noble Qur'an - القرآن الكريم 67-73 and also had downloaded one ZIP version, where in Surah-2 (Chapter-2) Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow) It is mentioned in the 67 versus and others that, what kind of cow be slaughter, else other are not be permitted by the Quran. the Paragraphs are as under;

67. And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "Verily, Allah commands you that you slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you make fun of us?" He said, "I take Allah's Refuge from being among Al-Jahilun (the ignorants or the foolish)."

68. They said, "Call upon your Lord for us that He may make plain to us what it is!" He said, "He says, 'Verily, it is a cow neither too old nor too young, but (it is) between the two conditions', so do what you are commanded."

69. They said, "Call upon your Lord for us to make plain to us its colour." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in its colour, pleasing to the beholders.' "

70. They said, "Call upon your Lord for us to make plain to us what it is. Verily to us all cows are alike, And surely, if Allah wills, we will be guided."

71. He [Musa (Moses)] said, "He says, 'It is a cow neither trained to till the soil nor water the fields, sound, having no other colour except bright yellow.' " They said, "Now you have brought the truth." So they slaughtered it though they were near to not doing it.

72. And (remember) when you killed a man and fell into dispute among yourselves as to the crime. But Allah brought forth that which you were hiding.

73. So We said: "Strike him (the dead man) with a piece of it (the cow)." Thus Allah brings the dead to life and shows you His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) so that you may understand.

And hence the Interpretation is Such that, the Cow (1) Colour bright Yellow and No others (2) Neither Old nor too Young, (3) Not trained to till the soil nor water the fields, are only permissiable for the religious slaughter, and No others.

please also refer Surat Al-Baqarah [2:67-73] - The Noble Qur'an - القرآن الكريم where it is translated in that manner.

196. And perform properly (i.e. all the ceremonies according to the ways of Prophet Muhammad ), the Hajj and 'Umrah (i.e. the pilgrimage to Makkah) for Allah. But if you are prevented (from completing them), sacrifice a Hady (animal, i.e. a sheep, a cow, or a camel, etc.) such as you can afford, and do not shave your heads until the Hady reaches the place of sacrifice. And whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment in his scalp (necessitating shaving), he must pay a Fidyah (ransom) of either observing Saum (fasts) (three days) or giving Sadaqah (charity - feeding six poor persons) or offering sacrifice (one sheep). Then if you are in safety and whosoever performs the 'Umrah in the months of Hajj, before (performing) the Hajj, (i.e. Hajj-at-Tamattu' and Al-Qiran), he must slaughter a Hady such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, he should observe Saum (fasts) three days during the Hajj and seven days after his return (to his home), making ten days in all. This is for him whose family is not present at Al-Masjid-al-Haram (i.e. non-resident of Makkah). And fear Allah much and know that Allah is Severe in punishment. (Surah-2; Versus 196)

----------------------------------

172. O you who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you with, and be grateful to Allah, if it is indeed He Whom you worship.

173. He has forbidden you only the Maytatah (dead animals), and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which is slaughtered as a scrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But if one is forced by necessity without wilful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, then there is no sin on him. Truly, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

-------------------------

35. And We said: "O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the Paradise and eat both of you freely with pleasure and delight of things therein as wherever you will, but come not near this tree or you both will be of the Zalimun (wrong-doers)."

60. And (remember) when Musa (Moses) asked for water for his people, We said: "Strike the stone with your stick." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each (group of) people knew its own place for water. "Eat and drink of that which Allah has provided and do not act corruptly, making mischief on the earth."

61. And (remember) when you said, "O Musa (Moses)! We cannot endure one kind of food. So invoke your Lord for us to bring forth for us of what the earth grows, its herbs, its cucumbers, its Fum (wheat or garlic), its lentils and its onions." He said, "Would you exchange that which is better for that which is lower? Go you down to any town and you shall find what you want!" And they were covered with humiliation and misery, and they drew on themselves the Wrath of Allah. That was because they used to disbelieve the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and killed the Prophets wrongfully. That was because they disobeyed and used to transgress the bounds (in their disobedience to Allah, i.e. commit crimes and sins).

5. Surah Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread with Food)

1. O you who believe! Fulfill (your) obligations. Lawful to you (for food) are all the beasts of cattle except that which will be announced to you (herein), game (also) being unlawful when you assume Ihram for Hajj or 'Umrah (pilgrimage). Verily, Allah commands that which He wills.
2. O you who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah, nor of the Sacred Month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlanded people or animals, etc. [Marked by the garlands on their necks made from the outer part of the tree-stems (of Makkah) for their security], nor the people coming to the Sacred House (Makkah), seeking the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when you finish the Ihram (of Hajj or 'Umrah), you may hunt, and let not the hatred of some people in (once) stopping you from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.

3. Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maytatah (the dead animals - cattle-beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and the meat of that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering, and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns - and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal - unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) - and that which is sacrificed (slaughtered) on An-Nusub(stone altars). (Forbidden) also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision, (all) that is Fisqun (disobedience of Allah and sin). This day, those who disbelieved have given up all hope of your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me. This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above-mentioned meats), then surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

4. They ask you (O Muhammad ) what is lawful for them (as food ). Say: "Lawful unto you are At-Tayyibat [all kind of Halal (lawful-good) foods which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.)]. And those beasts and birds of prey which you have trained as hounds, training and teaching them (to catch) in the manner as directed to you by Allah; so eat of what they catch for you, but pronounce the Name of Allah over it, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Swift in reckoning."

5. Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat [all kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith [i.e. His (Allah's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

(The Halal food means the Food which Slaughtered only in Name of Allah all other foods are known as the Not Valid as per Quran)

------------
75. The Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Maryam (Mary)] was a Siddiqah [i.e. she believed in the words of Allah and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while Allah does not eat). Look how We make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).

(There is Name of Jesus Christ in the Quran as Messiah, also Mother Maryum (Mother Mary), and Abraham and Mossess are the common prophets of Both Islam and Christian)

95. O you who believe! Kill not game while you are in a state of Ihram for Hajj or 'Umrah (pilgrimage), and whosoever of you kills it intentionally, the penalty is an offering, brought to the Ka'bah, of an eatable animal (i.e. sheep, goat, cow, etc.) equivalent to the one he killed, as adjudged by two just men among you; or, for expiation, he should feed Masakin (poor persons), or its equivalent in Saum (fasting), that he may taste the heaviness (punishment) of his deed. Allah has forgiven what is past, but whosoever commits it again, Allah will take retribution from him. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Able of Retribution.

----------------

So above Versus in Chapter-2 and Chapter-5 are given, According to which the animal will be only killed for Food, that is for sacrifice, or as Halal food (not in Mc donald), Which is permitted in Quran.
Hence The Cow which is Bright Yellow in Colour, Not too Young Not too Old, Not used is Farming, is only permitted and Not other Cows....................

Few Questions :
(1) whether Muslims will follow these Surah
(2) Cows are not killed only for the Food, But Mostly Cows are killed for the purpose of Its Leather and Other purposes, the number of Cow killed for Leather and other things, is more than Food? and Yes some Number of Hindus are related to such sin, But for people of Muslim, Whether any Animal including Cow will be permitted to be killed for the purpose of other than food, as per the Quran?

Cow Slaugtering In India

Cattle slaughter in India - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My views are

(1) India ranks 5th in the world in beef production, 7th in domestic consumption and 1st in exporting.
(2) It could be presumed that most of Cows are killed for export purpose, and also for Leather etc. purposes
(3) Hindus who are against killing of Innocent animals, are Ignorant of killing of cows, and other animals for Leather etc.
(4) there were more than 120 billion cows in India in 1900 AD which are now only 30 carores. only. Milk will be the Dream if the killing will not stops.
(5) India Animal Numbers, Cattle Total Slaughter by Year (1000 HEAD) (killing Slaughtering is go high in number)
(6) the way of slaughter is more barbaric, see videos on Youtube, Peta

Hope Innocent killing will be reduced in India, and Non Food killing will also stop.

1. Cows are among those animals which are allowed to be consumed and sacrificed (and consumed). Cows have no preference over other animals such as buffalo, camel, goat, and sheep and it is purely a matter of personal preference and cost.

2. Cows are not largely killed for the purpose of hide for the hide is sold much cheaper compared to the meat. Hide is bi-product so are bones.

3. No, domesticated animals are not allowed to be killed for a purpose other than their intended purpose. For instance beast-of-burden such as horse, donkey, mules etc are not allowed to be killed for consumption but only when they are injured (and cant be treated) or in the dire need (no other source of food).

the reason is Its directly connected with the Quran and its versus, there is none where discussion what quran says, moreover if there would be post on 100 and odd page all will not refer it surely and hence directly new thread on whether Cows will be slaughter as per quran, for Halal food, and which are as per mentioned in Quran and No other.

How is this related to defence anyways?

Please move this to the appropriate section.

Thanks but I believe for leathers etc most cows are killed, instead Religious Ceremony, moreover, whats your view if In Quran in Surah its stated that, only Bright Yellow Cow, not too young or not to old, and which is not used for till the field, etc. be only use for Halal food and no other Cow (Black, white, or any other colour).

That is in reference to a particular ritual performed in the ancient (pre-Islamic) times and for the first and last time. Quran does talk about events that took place in the ancient times to give examples.

The plain reading of Surah-2 its versus from 67 refers above stating about what to slaughter, when it is in Quran to say what to eat and not, whether that could be construed that it is for the Ancient examples, or pre-islamic, plz refer the Quran in English and give light to the particular point. Again the question will be when in Quran it is stated, Only the Cow with Bright Yellow, and Not too Old or too Young, and which is not use for Farming Purpose. What does its mean, and if it is in Quran whether it will be followed strictly. If different construction or Interpretation on which bases, Quran versus can be construed or interpret strictly only.

Arey bapre!!!!! Whats up with cow..., beef and religion!!!! Why???? Why god???? Why???? Why religious freaks?????

A case of arriving at a conclusion before considering the evidence.

Bhai - Bakhsh do, we already have lot of mullah who do interpretation as per their wish.

The reference you mention in Surah Baqra in Holy book was only belong to Prophet Moses time and it has no connection to current Qurbani. During Prophet Moses's time an innocent guy was killed and there were chance of big clashes between the accused and grievance party. To find out the real culprit, Allah ordered them to slaughter the cow. The order was basically to slaughter any cow but they started asking the details about the cow appearance and looks and it became punishment for them to find a particular cow.
