The earlier Pinaka system, which was an unguided one, has now been transformed into a guided version, with a navigation, guidance and control kit developed by the Research Centre, Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, they said.

Research Centre, Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad comes under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The earlier Pinaka system, which was an unguided one, has now been transformed into a guided version, with a navigation, guidance and control kit developed by the Research Centre, Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, they said.

The guided Pinaka has been developed jointly by the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune, the RCI, and the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad, for the Indian Army. The PXE, Chandipur, provided the range and launch support.

The test was carried out from a multi barrel launcher at about 10.35 AM from the firing point of the Proof & Experiment Establishment (PXE) under DRDO, a day after two rounds of the successful trial took place yesterday, defence sources said.

Radars, electro-optical systems and telemetry systems at the defence range at Chandipur tracked and monitored the rocket all through its flight path. The guided version is Pinaka mark-II, which evolved from Pinaka mark-I. It can fire a salvo of 12 rockets in 44 seconds.

An upgraded version of Pinaka rocket, with enhanced range and guidance system, was successfully test-fired from Chandipur in Odisha for the second consecutive day on Thursday.

The successful trial of the guided Pinaka has reinforced the technological strength of the country in converting the unguided systems into weapons of high precision and accuracy, he said.

The conversion helped in enhancing the range and accuracy of Pinaka. If its range was 40 km earlier, it is more than 70 km now, a DRDO official said.

Its interesting that indians claim to make weapon systems and after successful testing they call for imported ones.

Funny you asked about Pinaka. We first did the first round of testing of this weapon on the NLI troops in Kargil.

In dreams and you proved yourself that you don't know anything about military and equipment.

Truth hurts

No,just the sheer stupidity here.
You can Google it but then again who am I to argue with a defense expert!

If we can somehow tap the amount of fire running out of our Padosi's bottoms on this thread . . we can possibly add couple of more kilometers to Pinaka's range.

Excellent. This was long overdue. A 30 Km MBRL will do nothing in modern warfare. Mk 2 should have been actually the first one.

DRDO do have defense capabilities. DRDO Scientists, Engineers and technicians work round the clock for the soveriginity of Republic of India along with Indian Armed Forces.

Its interesting that indians claim to make weapon systems and after successful testing they call for imported ones.

Seems you are talking about Russian Federation's S-400. Russian defense Industry made S-400 have been decimated by the US Navy in Syria.
