Factcheck: How did India become a fake news hotspot? | DW News

In a nation filled with unintelligent and gullible fools, fake news is bound to thrive.

For more than a decade idiot Indians have been telling themselves and the world that 58% of NASA scientists are Indians.

That 58% Nasa lie has been peddled by Indians since the early days of the internet.

Fake news is a symptom of malicious political environment more than anything else. Ordinary folks have little ability to peddle fake news consistently without institutional and financial support. When a country has the historical complexities and therefore the opportunities for exploitation, such things are bound to happen. Fake news is comforting like a warm bath. It reinforces your beliefs and finds you allies in fake news spreaders. Thankfully the awareness is growing.

it's not ALL fake new but we do have our low quality news channels, of all dispensations, mnd you.. who are into sensationalist garbage.. its the result of a free media environment, free of state control.. people generally know it and see it for what it is, pro or anti whatever blah ideology they may be.
