Hopefully with all the stadiums in place Qatar will turn its sports infrastructure into a place for teams from all over the world to train, play and host tournaments.

Even though Messi says he won’t play at the next World Cup, I hope he comes to the next one in North America, and especially in New York, in 2026. They are building a stadium in the part of queens with the largest concentration of South Americans. It would be amazing to see the captain of the Argentinan team there to share a moment with the young players, from all backgrounds, here in New York. Hopefully they get the stadium built in time, so it can at least host one game of the 2026 World Cup.

If there is anything the West can learn is that the world has moved on from western dominance.

Historically, It’s a game more in keeping how American teams see sports, but with the demographic changes, especially with more Latinos in America and the upcoming 2026 World cup across North America, Soccer/International Football will defiantly get a chance to have its proper arrival in American culture.

Perhaps over time, it won’t be even, but soccer will be seen as an important sport.

Of the one country in Europe you would think wouldn’t like to see Argentina win its the Brits, but they seem to more comfortable seeing someone where Arab attire.

For some the people from the other parts of Europe, what happened to this is just a game? The rest of the world showed up and it seems those people in Europe didn’t like what they saw.

When they beat Morroco they were Frenchmen, but now the French team allegedly lost because they didn’t have “patriotism” and “weren’t born in France”.

This is probably why, youth from MENA backgrounds feel more alienated then youth from these kinds of backgrounds in the US. These sentiments seem like they are always lying just under surface with a sizable amount of Europeans in many of these European countries.

At least Qatar got to have its big event on the world stage, and change a lot of minds. Sports tourism can be a big part of what draws people to their country, especially from outside of Europe.
