As Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has been feeling unwell, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took on the task of presenting the remainder of the budget speech at the national parliament.
The finance minister is usually tasked with the job of presenting the budget speech but AHM Mustafa Kamal has been feeling unwell and came to the parliament from the hospital to present the speech this afternoon.
He sought permission to sit down and present the speech.
At one stage, the prime minister extended her assistance to the minister saying that she wanted to read the rest of the budget.
The budget for fiscal 2019-20 is aiming for a growth rate of 8.2 per cent, banking heavily on the expected growth of the running fiscal.
