Many players in this French national team are sons of immigrants. They are also labelled immigrants.

This is a broader question about immigration and globalization in general which merits a seperate thread

Only a small part of the society is playing the immigrant card for the French team, And they did so, by calling French people to support the "Only Left EU White Christian team" that is Croatia. And for that, they became the Pariah of the french society...

You have to understand that Football is sacred in France, even more when your team is in Final... And you can't touch those players...every bad word on them, will get you Dozens and Dozens of Million of French against you, whatever their political or ideological side.

For Us, those players are French... In France, we use the 3 Words "Black-Blanc-Beur" aka Black-White-Arab" Therefore Origin is already accepted for such team... as paying tribute to their heritage and our Multiculturalism.

That is good and I applaud it, but this optimism and principle also needs to be applied to society at large. That is the crux of this whole discussion. Football is a popular game watched all over the world. If a positive message can be sent through this win we need to convey it to defeat discrimination and racism.

Agreed. This doesn't get as much attention as it should. Even in a separate thread. This is the reason why that one Tweet got so many likes and shares. It made brilliant use of the moment to hit home an important message which otherwise is brushed under the carpet.

Even in this thread you will notice some resentment against this discussion. The moment you see denial and resistance it means that people are not accepting multiculturalism. They would turn a blind eye on the football field, but when it comes to society at large they hold their own one-sided views. That is contradictory and hypocritical to say the least.

Low IQs here in this forum are trying hard to promote their xenophobic, supremacist far-right agenda.
France is not the U.S., therefore colored people are not synonym of immigrants. Indeed, those are mostly indigenous people from the former vast colonial French Empire, and their grandparents probably already spoke some french.
Instead of the modern "Black-Blanc-Beur" it was called then "Trois couleurs, un drapeau, un Empire " (Three colors, one flag, one Empire).
Therefore in France, their are at home, and not going to leave. QED!

One final word: If ethnic Arabs and Africans seems surprisingly successful, it is mainly due to 'heredity' sort of speak.

These same multi-ethnic French troups of the Armée d'Afrique (African Army) would later starting from 15 August 1944 reconquer the entire continental mainland France from the south in the Provence coast and progress northward before heading toward the heart of Germany until the fall of Berlin in Mai 1945. Indeed it is those mighty invicible colored African troups that have crushed the finest of Europe's Third Reich!
