The 'Khela Hobe' sound 'alarms' the country's religious-ethnic minorities

Rana Dasgupta, general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, said, The call of "There will be a game" in the field of politics is alarming to minorities. This alarmed the religious-ethnic minorities of this country. Because, almost all the past elections have been played with the minorities of this country, due to which they have been tortured unnecessarily in the pre-election period.
He said this while announcing the implementation of 7-point demands of the minority community and road march program at a press conference organized at the National Press Club on Wednesday.
Rana Dasgupta commented that there was no visible initiative to implement the promises made by the ruling Awami League in its election manifesto to protect the interests and rights of the minorities during the 11th National Parliament Elections.
The promises made by the ruling party, Awami League in its election manifesto include: enactment of Minority Protection Act, formation of National Commission for Minorities, enactment of Anti-Discrimination Act, speedy implementation of Transfer of Entrusted Property Act, speedy implementation of Hill Peace Agreement and Hill Land Dispute Settlement Commission and for the tribals of the plains. Formation of Independent Land Commission. We also have a demand to form a minority ministry. From today's press conference, we are calling on all the democratic political parties, social organizations and civil society leaders of the country to express solidarity with these demands and build a civil movement.
Regarding the program, Rana Dasgupta also said, 'In 2022, we have held many programs for these demands. But as no initiative of the government was observed, the minority Oikya Morcha led by Oikya Parishad announced the program of road march towards Dhaka from the remote areas of the country on January 6 with the same demand.
We are hoping that a large number of minority tribal people will participate in this and gather at Shahbagh Square in Dhaka on January 7 at noon and from there at around 4 pm, they will march towards the Prime Minister's office and present the memorandum to him there.'
Rana Dasgupta hopes that the Prime Minister will accept this memorandum with sincerity and take effective steps to implement the promises of the government party at the earliest.
One of the presidents of the organization, Professor Dr.,Nimchandra Bhowmik was also present at the press conference. Presidium member Kajal Debnath, Subrata Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Manindra Kumar Nath also attended.

বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু বৌদ্ধ খ্রিস্টান ঐক্য পরিষদের সাধারণ সম্পাদক রানা দাশগুপ্ত বলেছেন, 'রাজনীতির মাঠে "খেলা হবে" বলে একটি ধ্বনি প্রধান দলগুলোর মধ্যে বারবার উচ্চারিত হচ্ছে। এ ধ্বনি এ দেশের ধর্মীয়-জাতিগত সংখ্যালঘুদের শঙ্কিত করে। কেননা, অতীতের প্রায় সব নির্বাচনে এ দেশের সংখ্যালঘুদের নিয়ে খেলা হয়েছে, যার কারণে নির্বাচনের পূর্বাপর সময়ে অহেতুক এরা নির্যাতিত হয়েছে।'
আজ বুধবার জাতীয় প্রেস ক্লাবে আয়োজিত এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের ৭ দফা দাবি বাস্তবায়ন ও রোডমার্চ কর্মসূচি ঘোষণার সময় এ কথা বলেন তিনি।
একাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের সময় ক্ষমতাসীন আওয়ামী লীগ তার নির্বাচনী ইশতেহারে সংখ্যালঘুদের স্বার্থ ও অধিকার রক্ষায় যেসব প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিল, তা বাস্তবায়নে দৃশ্যমান উদ্যোগ চোখে পড়েনি মন্তব্য করে রানা দাশগুপ্ত বলেন, 'যে কারণে চলতি বছরের শুরু থেকে ঐক্য পরিষদের নেতৃত্বাধীন সংখ্যালঘু ঐক্যমোর্চা সরকারের দেওয়া প্রতিশ্রুতি বাস্তবায়নের আন্দোলন পরিচালনা করে আসছে।
'সরকারি দল আওয়ামী লীগ তাদের নির্বাচন ইশতেহারে যেসব অঙ্গীকার ব্যক্ত করেছিল তার মধ্যে রয়েছে- সংখ্যালঘু সুরক্ষা আইন প্রণয়ন, জাতীয় সংখ্যালঘু কমিশন গঠন, বৈষম্যবিলোপ আইন প্রণয়ন, অর্পিত সম্পত্তি প্রত্যর্পণ আইনের দ্রুত বাস্তবায়ন, পার্বত্য শান্তিচুক্তি ও পার্বত্য ভূমিবিরোধ নিষ্পত্তি কমিশনের দ্রুত বাস্তবায়ন এবং সমতলের আদিবাসীদের জন্য স্বতন্ত্র ভূমি কমিশন গঠন। এছাড়াও সংখ্যালঘু মন্ত্রণালয় গঠনের দাবি আমাদের রয়েছে। আমরা আজকের এ সংবাদ সম্মেলন থেকে দেশের সকল গণতান্ত্রিক রাজনৈতিক দল, সামাজিক সংগঠন ও সুশীল সমাজের নেতৃবৃন্দকেও এসব দাবির সাথে সংহতি প্রকাশ করে নাগরিক আন্দোলন গড়ে তোলার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি।'
কর্মসূচি প্রসঙ্গে রানা দাশগুপ্ত আরও বলেন, '২০২২ সালে আমরা এসব দাবিতে অনেকগুলো কর্মসূচি পালন করেছি। কিন্তু সরকারের কোন উদ্যোগ পরিলক্ষিত না হওয়ায় ঐক্য পরিষদের নেতৃত্বাধীন সংখ্যালঘু ঐক্যমোর্চা একই দাবিতে আগামী ৬ জানুয়ারি সারা দেশের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চল থেকে ঢাকা অভিমুখী রোডমার্চের কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করে। আমরা আশা করছি, বিপুল সংখ্যক সংখ্যালঘু আদিবাসী জনগণ এতে অংশগ্রহণ করে আগামী ৭ জানুয়ারি ঢাকার শাহবাগ চত্বরে দুপুরবেলা জমায়েত হবে এবং সেখান থেকে বিকেল ৪টার দিকে পদযাত্রা সহকারে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা করবেন এবং সেখানে তার বরাবর স্মারকলিপি পেশ করবেন।'
রানা দাশগুপ্তের প্রত্যাশা, প্রধানমন্ত্রী এ স্মারকলিপি আন্তরিকতার সঙ্গে গ্রহণ করবেন এবং সরকারি দলের অঙ্গীকারগুলো বাস্তবায়নে দ্রুততম সময়ের মধ্যে কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করবেন।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন সংগঠনের অন্যতম সভাপতি অধ্যাপক ড. নিমচন্দ্র ভৌমিক, প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য কাজল দেবনাথ, সুব্রত চৌধুরী, যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক মনীন্দ্র কুমার নাথ প্রমুখ।

রানা দাশগুপ্তের প্রত্যাশা, প্রধানমন্ত্রী এ স্মারকলিপি আন্তরিকতার সঙ্গে গ্রহণ করবেন এবং সরকারি দলের অঙ্গীকারগুলো বাস্তবায়নে দ্রুততম সময়ের মধ্যে কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করবেন।
