Goodbye Tolerance: Yoga opponents should go to Pakistan, Sadhvi Prachi says

Then why not make it volunteer?

Why shove it down the throats of everyone, whether they want it or not.

It is like making something beutiful as Valentine's day completely controversial by putting it as "mandatory for everyone to celebrate" in the constitution.

We are a Hindu country. So we will enforce it. Most likely we will throw out the word secularism from our constitution in a couple of years' time.

we will leave them to people of India to decide. If they are benefited with yoga they will do every day irrespective of any religion. Our point was to introduce it, once people see benefits they will do it ;)

There are lots of things haram in Islam, even Music is haram, but Atif Aslam, Shehzad Roya, Khan, etc sing .. why?

You are not getting the point my dear.

It is not about Islam, lets say there is no religion called Islam.

Lets keep it general, suppose there are religions out there which do not allow Yoga. Do you still want Yoga mandatory for their kids?

And you did not answer my question: Do you want to make it mandatory only for Hindu schools or for every school?

Are you next Sadvi Parachi in disguise?

Or the next prime minister candidate?

every school , and mandatory. With slokas or without slokas that's choice of the practitioner. Normally once you reach the level of Ajna , it is speechless meditation.

Their voice will not be heard. More over it is the responsibility of Muslims too that they should also tolerate. Tolerance should be balanced.
Tolerance is our ability to accept the practices of others that have no tangible negative impact on us.

Refusing to promote the practice of yoga within ones own community (assumption being majority of community supports said position) is not a 'lack of tolerance', forcing a community (to practice/promote yoga) that does not wish to practice/promote yoga is a 'lack of tolerance' ... as is one community forcing another to NOT practice yoga.

Substitute the terms 'yoga' above with 'animal slaughter', 'blasphemy', 'praying in public' etc. as needed.

There is no uproar in India against Yoga accept for a few 1, 2 leaders to gain vote. Many Muslims practice yoga in India every day. It is something which is more of a physical exercise and is not even anti Islamic. But few are trying to give it a religious turn. Which is not good.

In Case of Pakistan, it is not the Yoga which is hurting, it is the INDIAN LEADERSHIP in this action.

Nope. I am bitter melon. I am just trying to cure your piles. You seem to be too hurt that India being a secular country is imposing Yoga. So I thought it would ease your pain if I told you we always were a Hindu country under the false impression of secularism. So now since I have exposed what we are and we are doing, should not your *** be feeling cooler now?

So the individual who is the topic of this thread and made the statement below is a nut case?

"They should connect themselves with the traditions of India, culture of India ... there is no need for any objection. If they are objecting then they should go to Pakistan. People who are objecting to it have no right to reside in India," the fiery VHP leader said when asked about AIMPLB's opposition to Yoga.
But few are trying to give it a religious turn. Which is not good.
Let people give it whatever 'turn' they want. The point here is that opposition to yoga (or animal slaughter, public prayer etc) in itself is not an issue - it is when people start forcing others to adhere to their own beliefs that it becomes a problem. If people want to practice yoga, great, all power to them, and if people don't want to practice yoga, great, all power to them.

And you did not answer my question: Do you want to make it mandatory only for Hindu schools or for every school?

All schools which are not minority schools, by default are majority schools. Which means they should follow the majority customs.

Refusing to promote the practice of yoga within ones own community (assumption being majority of community supports said position) is not a 'lack of tolerance'
By their refusal they should not make it a hindrance for others. Indian schools should not be deprived of yoga (which will become a negative) because of Muslims and increase resentment against Muslims. Muslims have their minority run schools. If they do not wish to do yoga, they can always quit normal schools and join only minority run establishments.

This reply was to Azam Khan, who once said Muslims won Kargil for India to get votes. What else can be said over these statements.

The quoted section of his reply does not reference Azam Khan or the Kargil content of his comments - it's a straightforward statement about 'traditions of India, culture of India' - so, is he a nut case and would you consider such statements intolerant?

we all know from whom this comment was. This is UP politics.

That goes for both side. People attack verbally from both sides but they also love their chair. Any violence will be their down fall.
Not that it's an excuse for the intolerance and hate-mongering being displayed by the BJP, but has the 'other side' (whomever that may be) told Indians who disagree with their views to go live in another country?

Here, and in other instances, you have the BJP ranting and raving telling Indians who disagree with their policies to essentially renounce their citizenship and live elsewhere (much like the views of intolerant right wing bigots in the US) ... You can try and excuse it or couch it any way you want, but at it's core this kind of speech is nothing other than hate-speech and intolerance, which you are welcome to support since its your country and not mine, but don't insult everyone's intelligence here by pretending it's just 'politics as usual'.

Khalistani demanding separate land is allowed by Court,
Kashmiri demanding their land is allowed by the court
Bodo's asking for a new state is allowed by the court

See the tolerance.

Secondly, BJP is not the only party which plays such tactics. Congress is worse. Babri would have demolished in 47 itself but they kept it to be demolished later for own goals. And in 1991 to win elections and divert LTTE issue, Congress demolished Babri.

Every one thinks that it was Advani, but no it was not Advani.

This is politics of numbers, religion and caste. Recently Delhi CM said he like some administration of Umair. Well this would hurt few Hindus too. But he did for the vote bank.

States where it is confirmed that 5 years BJP will stay and 5 Year congress, such things do not happen. :)
