We should always have sought a better relation with Russia. Look what our interference as a client state of USA in Afghanistan do for us. Fanaticizing society and causing crime, weaponization and other problems. It was a huge mistake not seeking to develop relations with Russia. It proved to be a far better ally compared to USA.

Remember even if ever Chabahar gets developed, it is not your PORT, it belongs to Iran and you will only be their operating. Gwadar Belongs to Pakistan and will be with us forever. I don't want to go down to elucidate why Gwadar as a port is way better than it's sister port Chabahar.
Yes you are right..
It's obvious from the first.India just needs a way to export it's resource to central Asia specially to Afghanistan.. India is already refurbishing to increase it's cargo carrying capacity. It has 10 berth already active...
Like Pakistan Iran's local industry will also grow.

Eventually India will allow Russians to Chabahar too once it gets operationalised & same way Russia will sign such agreement.. Not a big concern. As US has backed off from Pakistan Russians are just using this opportunity & also gaining international support for Syria.
Russia wouldn't gain much but the biggest winner is Pakistan here if implemented properly.
I dont think they will use chabahar . chabahar means they have to pass through Afghanistan or multiple countries( long route).chabahar isnt a deep seaport . it has limits + its isnt an indian port its iranian.

The Russians, with their presence, should calm down both Pakistan & India in some way. If they invest heavily in CPEC, then perhaps, India will be more open to participating too, lets hope so...
india is out of the picture for sure.

did I make fun of you? I have said that via Kazakhstan, Russia will access CPEC. looking at the world map CPEC will also have links with Russia as there are no other viable routes to warn seas for Russia.

thats the best route for russia to join cpec making a road and tunnels in wakhan corridor isnt easy and will take alot of time

'If only wishes were fishes'. The prospect of Soviet Russia and Pakistan post 1947 being together is pure fantasy. Yes, if majority of Pakistani's were like me, secular with left leaning tendancies this might have been possible.

A person is known by the company he keeps. Soviet Russia had partners inside Afghanistan and who were they? Westernized secular Afghans of the PDPA.

You think for a second Pakistan with it's religion frothing from the mouth and just about everything being explained in referance to 'Muslim' would have got along with a socialist, athiest state? You got to be kidding me?

Elsewhere like Syria, Iraq Soviet Russia allied itself with leftist secular forces. No chance of that in a country which dreams in being citadel of Islam.

And who supported the hardline Islamists in Afghanistan. well the picture below says it all. The mullah and Americans were best friends once.

Russians Might not get a lot of benefit from Gawadar. The main purpose of Gawadar was an ease of access to middle east. Russians already have Oil & gas dumps, why would they need it.
Yes few of it's states which are near to Pak may get some benefits from it.
Oh man, wish u were there to project these words of wisdom when ussr invaded afghanistan is kuat of warm waters of the arabian sea, they might have avoided the war that led to thier fall because according to ur golden words no sorry ur rare gems about geo politics ussr broke in to pieces for something the didnt actually need...

A tunnel at wakhan corridor from Tajikistan to Pakistan under afghanistan will keep afghanistan in the dark ages for ever. i support tunneling at the narrowest point of Wakhan corridor as the hostile and pro indian policies of afghanistan are about to descend that country further into chaos which will affect all forms of access. Tunneling can by pass all of this.

whats the deal with the focking warm waters anyways? been hearing about 'em since the '80s
i hope this will explain you everything.if you look the line goes from Pakistan then china then Russia you will get the knowledge. if Russian are blocked by NATO or USA they can use this route. second most of the time Russian sea is frozen. reason why they need this route reason why they fought war in 1980 in AFGH. they thought IN 1971 Pakistan lost by India in bagladish. they can win in afgh and they can go through Pakistan.reason why they lost superpower status..
