Featured IAF Mi-17-V5 Helicopter carrying CDS Bipin Rawat with family crashes

As per latest reports, the pilots were supposed to fly at an altitude of 6,500 feet. Bur for some unknown reasons they were flying at an altitude of 4,000 feet. During the time of last contact with ground control the pilots were asked to IMMEDIATELY rise to an altitude of 6,500 feet, before all contact was lost.

It can be safely concluded that the pilots were supposed to fly at an altitude of 6,500 feet as it was a hilly terrain and any lower altitude meant chance of collision with mountains. But such experienced IAF pilots showed utter unprofessional behavior by ignoring ground control and flying at dangerously low heights. If the weather was clear at such low heights they would have managed to avoid collision, but due to dense fog, they could not see anything and ended up colliding with mountain.

Just can't imagine that such unprofessional behavior from experienced IAF pilots flying VVIP chopper is even possible.

What if altitude instrument was sabotaged to confuse the pilots into flying low? It was cloudy few hundred feet above ground and when pilot realised it was too late?

It may be that Bipin was himself directing the pilots, on how to fly a chopper; since he had the habit of poking his nose in every matter on the earth.

Seems like an insider hit job, Bipin was part of the web of lies including but not limited to the Balakot story /Abhinandan shot down F16 /no loss to China etc that Modi has been spinning in cohorts with Bipin since coming to power.

Even though Bipin was a RSS goon through and through, Modi still could not risk all the fabricated lies he has spun to be exposed intentionally or accidentally by someone like Bipin who knew too much.

Ultimately all fascist entities , organizations , countries etc fall onto themselves under the weight of the tall tales and stories that they spin which become their own bane as time goes on and as the truth is laid bare.

It seems that the competence level of those flying that chopper was as good as that of the key passenger, they were carrying.
It is so disg

I guess Bipin (along with Doval + Modi) has really got into pakistani's brains. The kind of posts of Pakistani members shows how much he got them.

Bipin sir - most of India loves you, and will remember you for generations. Thank you for your service. Rest in peace sir.

Did General Bipin Rawat --The most Revered and beloved of Many Pak-flaggers-- Die of Thirst, Crying for Water ?

indians could not even bother getting him some water but we must respect a mass-killer of the weak and the helpless.

Coming up with nonsense yet again, by the same logic did Pakistan Army got in to Indian brains so much for them to hate on two Pakistani Army majors who crashed their heli prior to this incident? All those Twitter posts showed how much Pakistan Army has got into Indian brains, which is just rubbish argument. But well Indians are known to come up with BS arguments.

Might just dish out two more Vir Chakras for the pilot of this heli and Bipin.

The whole irony is that it was a less than 30 minutes journey and the Chopper lost contact 20 minutes into the flight and seven minutes before landing. I guess by this time the pilot must have also begin his decend.
I don't also think any overhead cables were involved, the way those thick tree trunks have been sliced clean means the chopper blades were in full motion.

A local Indian of that area was claiming on an Indian channel that the General, while being rescued, asked for some water, and he served him.

can you recall the name of the liar? may be said it under duress. fact is there was no water available at the site. he was dead before the "pro rescuers" -who may have carried some- arrived.

my reference is from a shiv kumar who rushed to the scene after receiving a call from a relative who happened to be in the vicinity (some kinda public walking area).

Yes. His name is Shiv Kumar. The interview is on NDTV.

Guys, I'm no expert but from the above video it appears that the crash happened in the basin of the valley rather than the Valley head. As the man in the video explains he witnesses helicopter flying around above the peaks but this incident took place on the inner part of the general area.

One can give the benefit of the doubt to those pilots but as as someone with a few hours into training I would not expect pilots to miss calibration of the altimeter by 1500ft.

Anybody know the height of the takeoff point?

The said difference is not 1500, but 2500 feet.
