What's new

If India buys F-16?

And loose 300 Su-50 deal with India ? Russians are not that stupid.

And even if they sell, we should stop getting worried about such things.
If you can buy weapons from their Enemies, they can sell weapons to your Enemies..

if you are talking about business and money as an excuse to justify your weapon purchase from US. than
They can talk about business and money as an excuse to justify their weapon sales to Pakistan.

We will be making in India so costs will be considerably less as compared to US made F-16s
I don't think cost will be much lower as compared to US.

Reason,
1. India does not have any experience of maintaining US aircraft in the past.
2. training and setting machinery and manufacturing will cost 1/3 compared to low labor wages.

lol... Imagine if a day like that ever comes.
if a day like that ever comes, than there wouldn't be any F-16 to buy or sale.

I don't think US will let us exports those, also rest assure you won't get spares from us in case of a Indo-pak conflict :D:D

Now that you mention exports, those planes being made in India could still be sold to us if the US overrides the decision.

India should buy F16s only if complete ToT is offered, from manufacturing, production, assembly and sourcing most of the parts from Indian firms including the transfer of critical tech. If LM transfers only the assembly line, there is no point giving the Americans such a huge deal given the strings attached with any American deal and we don't want to get screwed up like how the US screwed Pak with spares and additional aircrafts when needed. It would be better to buy 1-2 more squadrons of Rafale and invest in the Tejas Mk-II and privatize it's assembly line to increase the production rate.

Instead of the F 16 production line....just transfer the GE 414 production line to India...that would be a much better option.

If India decides F16, all F16 in Pakistan's inventory will become useless.

Really...hmmm.
If India decides F16, all F16 in Pakistan's inventory will become useless.

than why not tejas
Because after 3 decades thet have now realized the failure of teja program and thats not a troll that is a fact and now they are searching for a single engine to repalce large fleet of MiG 21 like our thunder is replacing F7 pg. The want the source of replacement to be indigenous but unfortunately tejas flopped.

how 12-15 Billion of LWF Fighter from US/Sweeden
compare that to 3 Mod Krivaks, 2 Akula Class NSubs, BrahmosLR, Brahmos M, KA226, Additional T90M, 150 Pakfa/FGFA - close to 25 Billion, MKI Upgrade close to 7 billion, S400, Pantsir, . Total book order over next 15 years close to 42 Billion Dollars?

The same T 90 what we have or is this the T 90 MS?
