Within past 10-15 years, India has stepped up to being a major warship-building country, constructing surface combatants that are right up there with the best in the world and capable of going toe-to-toe with the ships built by industrialized countries who've been in the business of building major ships for over half a century.

And more importantly - we have learnt how to DESIGN a capable hull. Tech comes and goes. Weapons come and go. But the hull has to remain as it is for decades on end, therefore it's important to design a hull that can stay relevant well into the future.

Speaking of the future, the local warship-building is set to leapfrog further, with :-

  • Project-17A guided missile frigates (6,800 tons)
  • Project-18 NGD guided missile destroyers (estimated 13,000 tons according to the CWP&A)
  • Project-21 Shachi-class OPVs (1,500-1,800 tons)
  • Project-71 Vikrant-class aircraft carrier (40,000 tons)
  • HSL Missile-Range Instrumentation Ship (10,000 tons)

And I'm not even including the various foreign-designed vessels which will be constructed in Indian shipyards, such as:-

  • Hyundai Heavy Industries-HSL Fleet Support Ships (~50,000 tons)
  • Next-Gen Missile Vessels
  • Next-Gen Corvettes
  • Shallow-Water ASW Corvettes
  • Project 1135.6 Adm. Grigorovich-class guided missile frigates (~4,500 tons)

But when see in all the warship armament is low

Sent from my SM-J700F using Defence.pk mobile app
These aren't battleships where every armament is mounted on the deck. Most of the armament and missile silos are under decks so that it is made sure the stealth isn't compromised

Isn't this thread about Indian naval platforms!! Why do you wanna derail every thread with your false flagging d*ck hanging around

Are you nuts??

Only thing low is Kolkata's SAMs (only 32 VLS) but that's okay because Kolk is not an AAW destroyer. When it comes to offensive armament Kolk has 16 SSMs - that's twice as many as comparable DDGs like Type-45 carry.

And Shivalik has 8 SSMs and 56 SAMs.

Show me where armament is low?

so what is the armament of P-28

P28 is an ASW corvette and doesn't require SSMs.
As per wiki
1 × OTO Melara 76 mm Super Rapid Gun Mount (SRGM)
2 × AK-630M close-in weapon system (CIWS)
2 × RBU-6000 (IRL) anti-submarine rocket launcher
4 × 533 mm Torpedo tubes
did u think only these weapon are sufficient for 4000T class ship. and in high sea how can it protect from anti ship missile.

1. The Kamorta, as I said, is an ASW corvette. And it's size and displacement shows that P28 is designed to be ocean-going vessel with high endurance. Meaning it will either be working as part of Carrier Group, or will be working together with a Main Surface Combatant (destroyer or frigate). No one sends an ASW corvette alone to fight enemy ships. And when it's part of a group or is teamed with a DDG/FFG it can easily rely on the defensive & offensive capabilities of other vessels while the P28 works to protect them from submarines.

2. A SAM compliment is already planned for P28.

I didn't miss it. I only posted pictures of ships that are already in service.

I included Vikrant in the list of ships yet to come in future.
