India and Russia sign Rs 1,500 crore deal for air-to-air missiles for Su-30 fighters

" The Russian missiles with an extended range would give an added capability to the Sukhois to take on enemy aircraft at long ranges "

Too bad it took 27feb for iaf to do these necessary changes , good thing is we didn't loose too much on that day.

How much is it in US Dollar ?

Usually after such encounters they train harder and teach us a lesson. It is folly and us emulating their false sense of pride and achievement if we underestimate them.

Arent SARH obsolete and much easier to jam and dodge? Why go backwards? Dont think its a good decision, unless they had the range in mind.

They have also looked at implementing an active seeker on the R-27

A previous such example being in your opinion ?
Just prior to the 27th there was enough on how the IAF would walk through like a knife through butter.
A small sample test it may be but the 27th shows otherwise.

Ur right and im sure we r doing enough. Our main hurdle is our economic situation, once that fixes, we will always be at par with them in terms of technology.

What lesson did they teach us after Kargil (besides terror financing)?

They are not reading your posts, why spoil your mood over it. You had a witty sense of humor, where did it go?
Im extremely mood neutral. My humor went to cynicism.

What lesson did they teach us after Kargil (besides terror financing)?
I don’t understand your context?
We initiated Kargil and then got our men massacred and our international credibility flushed down the toilet. That was the lesson they taught us.
