India negotiating purchase of more Apache and Chinook helicopters: Boeing official

More or less same but meteor has the advantage over PL- 15 because sustainable fuel supplies till the last moment of flight ( better kinetic performance over PL-15)more or less both are same category meteor has better kinetic performance but PL-15 has better seeker ( AESA) ( METEOR still using old fashioned PULSE DROPPLER seeker) which means PL-15 is more resistant to jamming because of AESA seeker
The bottom line is that both have pros and cons no weapon system is100% perfect
And last and most important thing is who come up with better tactics using meteor or PL-15
Will Pakistan develop better tactics with PL-15 seeing the weakness of METEOR
Or will India develop better tactics with METEOR seeing the weakness of our PL-15

THAT'S THE MAIN THING
Meteor is installed with an active radar target seeker

It is equipped with a two-way datalink system.
Meteor is powered by a solid fuel variable flow ducted rocket (ramjet) supplied by Bayern-Chemie. The ramjet provides the Meteor missile with a capability to maintain consistent high speeds. This ability helps the missile to chase and destroy fast moving flexible targets.

Not currently meteor has no AESA seeker and airforce technology website is not reliable source come with better source like Jane's defence weekly/ flight global/ aviation weekly

Guided by an advanced active radar seeker, Meteor provides all weather capability to engage a wide variety of targets from agile fast jets to small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and cruise missiles. It is designed to meet the most stringent of requirements and is capable of operating in the most severe of clutter and countermeasure environments

Do you have comprehension problem active radar seeker doesn't means it has a AESA seeker

For example all AMRAAM VERSIONS USES OLD FASHIONED PULSE DOPPLER SEEKER BUT ALSO CALLED ACTIVE RADAR SEEKER

FIRST RESEARCH ACTIVE RADAR GUIDENESS AND PASSIVE RADAR GUIDENESS

I ROUGHLY EXPLAIN TO YOU ACTIVE RADAR GUIDENESS SYSTEMS CAN EMITS AND RECEIVE RADIO WAVES SUCH AS VERSIONS OF ALL AMRAAM AND R-77 AND PL-12/SD-10

PASSIVE GUIDENESS IS THAT IT ONLY RECEIVE NOTHING EMITS AT LIKE SOME VERSIONS OF R-77 AND R-27

AND TELL ME WHERE THE ARTICLE SAYS IT USES AESA SEEKER BUT THIS MANUFACTURER ARTICLE IS RIGHT IT USES (OLD FASHIONED PULSE DOPPLER SEEKER WITH ACTIVE RADAR GUIDENESS CAPABILITY LIKE AMRAAM SERIES)

1. Conventional rocket-powered missiles like PL-15 etc. have to carry both fuel and oxidizer while in contrast ramjet missiles like Meteor are air-breathing, so they don’t need to carry the oxidizer, which means the same amount of fuel gives them significantly longer range. Plus, the other constituents of air that get pulled along and heated in the engine add to the available reaction mass, further increasing the propulsive efficiency

2. Meteor employs sophisticated in-flight computer which in conjunction with the AI radar data help the missile to maneuver in reaction to enemy aircraft’s changing position. Meteor during its flight towards target constantly share its status of fuel, intercept trajectory etc. to mothership. It also has high end X-Band AESA sensor which activates in terminal phase. Proximity fuse further ensures more lethality.

3. In case of BVRs greater the range lesser is the kill probability, but owing to ramjet propulsion, Meteor has high kinetic energy upon impact. Due to this very reason Meteor has one of the best No Escape Zone.

Yes you're right but as I say earlier not every weapon system is 100% perfect METEOR has it own limitations

It can be defeated with right tactics

I am saying that media gets paid. They print things saying "it's going to happen".

I am just asking you to list things which actually happened or got signed.

Regarding the emergency powers , it's a power given to service chief to import something under 35 million USD quickly. This was something which was present from before the incident. Special lubricants, paints, engines for engineering equipment, etc that kind of things.

So again be a bit practical, and if it was as bad as you believe, something concrete should have happened. Mention that concrete thing.

A common person like me dont have access to indian procurements and naturally we go for the news. So what is ur point then?? There was no such emergency procurements? No deals signed after the incident? No haste in ongoing deals after the incident???? This means u guys knew u were lacking capability against PAF and yet went on with failed strikes??? Which may prove that u guys are extremely stupid. All that chest thumping, while knowing u lack capability???

Whenever a deal is signed, even that makes to the news. It may be for just 3 tugboats. But it makes the news. You don't need some super secret access to information. Every bit of Indian defence spending is out in the open for people to check up on. Everything single thing. Like what exact amount will go into repair/maintenance works, what will go for new equipment, what will be the advance payments of already signed deals, etc.

Then there's a document specifically laying out all the weapon systems required over next 10 years till 2028, released in 2018.

Please list. Or list atleast what you think has been bought post that incident.

All I am saying is that it was in benefit of certain companies to get news outlets print favorable news items.

America has a trade deficit with India , these transaction are a result of major leveraging actions taken by America .
India is also trying to maximize utility buy not buying anything off the shelf and focusing on technological gaps..

These weapons come with good support even thought initial purchase price is more expensive than in Russian weapons and I think India has noticed that because in past there has been problems getting spares from Russia.

Of course western weapons quality is also far higher.

Some systems are good , many aren't, with high maintenance costs.
Where America excels or rather has a market edge in , is user augmenting technologies ,delivery system integration and ecosystems.
These features require prolonged iterations(over real world tests) to get where they are.

India wont buy tech that wont leverage existing stuff that India already has, especially if it fails to or outright doesn't allow integration with with existing armaments which could be Russian or local.

High-tech equipment requires more maintanance but it pays off in combat zone.

Russian gear is cheaper because it's lower quality.

This generalization is way more complex than meets the eye.

Cheap T72s tanks are equally susceptible to atgm than expensive European versions.
If a piece of equipment is frontline then cheap and more numbers always win out.

its all in the use case.

Abrams protects it's crew better tham T-72 and it's other variants like T-90. Mainly due the fact that ammo is stored in seperate section and blow out panels direct blast away from tank itself.

Claiming that bigger numbers always win is silly... put 100 F-15 against 200 MiG-29's and tell me who's more likely to win... I'd put my money on American fighters.
