India protests submarine sale to Pakistan

This protests and counter protests is usual! wasnt Pakistan crying hoarse over the Nuclear deal and asking USA for the same deal??? Didnt Pakistan object to the sale of Patiots???

Same thing, India protests just to show it can also protest! Like i said before, In India the Opposition leader always keep telling "Prime Minister should Resign". They know PM wont resign, but keep telling anyways because U never know when ur prayers are answered!!! :) Same way India Pakistan protests! Pakistan knows it had an ice cubes chance in hell to block the Nuclear Deal, still it protested! why? Its all Just DOMESTIC COMPULSION!!!!

Anand has already replied any way. Can't the same be said about Pakistan

Reply : India is crying over Sri Lankan cricket teams visit to Pakistan and surely will be involved in act of terrorism during this match .. What do you call this ?

Wrong, it is common for both the country to protest such deals which could tilt statigic balance on other side...

Wrong reply my dear.

Regarding waiver by NSG Pakistan has a position that either the waiver should be for all or no body. This waiver should not be for a single country as it sets out a wrong president.

As far as Patriot sale is concerned Pakistan has objected on the point that it shall start an arms race not objected that the system should not be sold to India. There is a difference between the two.

Pakistan has always maintained that every country has the right to purchase equipment it considers necessary for the defense of the country.

all objections are based on arms race! Pakistan has Indirectly asked US not to sell it. Its all the same bro.

The above link does not say that Pakistan has indirectly asked US not to sell Patriots to India.

It says Pakistan conveyed its concerns to USA.

India unhappy with Sri Lanka's cricket tour to Pakistan: Reports

COLOMBO: India is not happy with Sri Lanka's cricket tour to Pakistan, media reports said on Sunday.

The tour was hastily arranged by Pakistan after India refused to go ahead with the scheduled visit following last month's terror attacks in Mumbai. The then interim committee of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) headed by Arjuna Ranatunga, which was later dismissed by the government, accepted the invitation to fill in for India.

But now after the government cleared the tour, Indian authorities have expressed their displeasure over the next month's series.

Independent Sunday Times quoting SLC sources said that the decision by the Ranatunga administration to undertake the tour "had irked the Indian authorities" and the matter had been discussed "at the highest levels in Colombo".

"These sources said that SLC also received clear signals that Indian authorities were unhappy with the move to tour Pakistan when they were having political problems with that country. They said they treated the Sri Lankan move as a snub on the Indians mainly as a fallout from the Indian Premier League (IPL) issue," the daily said.

The report said that the Sri Lankan sports authorities were forced to go to the foreign ministry to get clearance for the national team's tour to Pakistan next month "following a nose-dive in Indo-Pak relations in recent weeks".

With sports minister Gamini Lokuge briefing President Mahinda Rajapaksa "saying that the Pakistan tour had become a diplomatic issue". Rajapaksa then referred the matter to foreign minister Rohitha Bogollagama.

Bogollagama, however, has said that there was no "diplomatic pressure applied on Sri Lanka either by India or Pakistan" with regard to the cricket tour.

He has told the newspaper that he cleared the tour considering it as a "sporting issue", and that Sri Lanka promoted "people-to-people visits" among South Asian member states.

"If indeed there were security concerns, the matter has to be determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC)," the foreign minister was been quoted as saying.

Claiming that both India and Pakistan "are important factors in Sri Lanka's military and diplomatic efforts to defeat the LTTE", the Sunday Times said that Ranatunga has sought a meeting with Rajapaksa to present his case.

So what are you trying to say here?
What ever is done is a "" Diplomatic compulsion" and it is done nothing else. The same was the Pakistan Government "Diplomatic compulsion" to say against India's nuclear deal.

The end result is known. I think Sri lanka is traveling Pakistan. The same way Germany is going to sale the U boats.

But does not "diplomatic compulsion" mean the govt. is involved ? Earlier you were saying that it was a "private entity" affair ?

It's just part of diplomatic compulsion (and also for domestic consumption)

to show that they are doing something, nothing else.

To show that they're doing something, particularly against Pakistan. Right...

Its interesting to see how the indian mind thinks about Pakistan... The whole notion of Indian diplomacy aimed to work against Pakistan's interests reinforces the commonly held belief that Indian hearts and minds will never view Pakistan as friends.

Yes, It has "conveyed concerns" means objections!!! It has to convey it to US coz US is selling the Patriots! I wont call you Dumb because it would be an understatement ;)

You are stupid and are trying to portray yourself as intelligent. I asked you for link to the objection and you have not provided one.

Conveying concern is one thing and try to block the sale through objection another thing. Pakistan has never tried to block arms sale to India. It is India that is scared of any sale to Pakistan.

Either you provide the link or don't say things you can not back up with some proof.

Dont get worked up, u might blow a vein! Chill :) Do you think Pakistan is capable of blocking arms sales? Does India stand a chance? Heck The U.S couldnt do anything about Russians giving Iran Arms!

The Arms Sellers want others to die, so that they Profit! The Last line from the Movie Lord Of War is apt here "You know who's going to inherit the Earth? Arms dealers. Because everyone else is too busy killing each other. That's the secret to survival. Never go to war. Especially with yourself. "
