India made satellite with more than 4 ton weight but this satellite is an advanced one, thats why 36 transponders with only 2310 kg weight.

It has Russian cryogenic engine, one of the two left. but there are rumors that India may launch another GSLV by next month with indigenous cryogenic engine.
