Indian Airforce A-50 EI Spotted

hmmmm of course we are.....and of course you have some inside information? or just ego? .....give us some projections then smart man......i await you reply......

Definitely!u don't need to be an insider to know that,we see so many sorties of the MKI everyday. At the moment Pune itself has a large number of MKIs(much more than a sqn strength)since no.8 Pursoots and Warlords are being converted for MKI acquisition.Believe me,the number of sorties made each day are overbearing by any AF standards.

Period.

There's a severe shortage of spare parts for IL-76/78, this could eventually ground the platform unless IAF secures large amount of spare kitts.

Russia isn't reliable when it comes to supplying spareparts, we've seen this happen with Mig-21, Mig-29 and now even Su-30MKI. My source tells me that only 10-12 jets are flying due severe shortage of spares.
come on Neo, only 10 MKIs flying around? I dont buy this.

I posted the news almost a year ago and got it from horses mouth, someone in Russia's defence industry with high level of security clearance. Situation has improved eversince but the fact remains that MKI pilots still have very low flying hours. Worse problem is the engine, it has a short life span and most technical problems are engine related.

That is one of the reasons China asked for a higher thrust version of AL-31FN with 20% more thrust for its J-10B and Russia developped it for them. Four have been delivered to China sofar.

Looks like you just have ego then.......i thought as much... read neo's reply above...thanks for playing mate..;)

I doubt we would waste MKI's (only 10 of which would be flying) on pointless escorts for newly acquired Boeing 777's . Don't you think that they would much rather put those machines on training missions or keep them wrapped up in a time of hightned tensions.

Ok , now back to topic of AWACS please.

Actually mate if you read what was written......
the situation has improved from the 10 planes but serviceability issue remains.
And frankly the MKI is a huge PR machine for the IAF (not to mention internet warriors) they would certainly be used for escorting civvy jets and the like.

Keysersoze, talk something sensible other than BS.

Sorry Indicom I leave the BS to people such as yourself  Now if you want to bathe in self delusion i suggest several Indian websites that are undoubtedly out there.

Those are wonderful places where the LCA was inducted years ago, the Gorshkov sails in Indian colours since 2007, the Arjun is the deadliest tank in the world and the MKI can shoot down any plane in world with it's lasers and force fields.

Now As I have tested Neo's contact and the information has been sound. I will take it as being more accurate than some bloke saying "I saw a aeroplane out of my window ergo you are wrong"

We have a new titbit of info BTW........Wanna know ?.......Or is it just "BS" from me

According to some Indian sites LCA has not only been inducted but is a 4.5 generation fighter. I came across one site where some one tried to say that LCA was not 4.5 generation and every one else bounced on him as if he had committed treason.

I don't know why they choose SU-30 if LCA was 4.5 generation

What was that?:undecided:

The question is simple. IF LCA was 4.5 generation fighter would you buy SU-30 another same generation fighter. After all LCA is indigenous while SU-30 is a foreign fighter and your dependence on Russia will remain as long as SU-30 is in IAF service.

A logical assumption would be to go for LCA and try to develop it further IF it is a 4.5 generation fighter.

SU 30 deal was signed in 1990's when the even TD version were not built (The money was sanctioned in 1993 please check the august interview of LCA director in LCA thread). Then in 2001 again the avionics designs were changed to make it open architecture (again refer to the same interview). So it is getting developed. It is supposed to enter in service by 2010. The orders are already in place for 20.

In present configuration for IOC, LCA is 4 generation aircraft. But for FOC it will have 4.5 generation features.Like

Supercruise capability,AESA radar Elta-2052.

Till then IAF need Su-30MKI in Sufficient number.

And Also LCA will be Multi-role Aircraft And Su-30 will be the TOtal-air
dominance aircraft.

Now where this super cruise word came in? which engine you are reffering too will give that? IAF has already rejected the Snecma offer for there help in kaveri. It's a good decision. I never heard GE414 or EJ200 which are in competition for engines in LCA MK2 are capable of super cruising. Please correct me if I am wrong
