1962 was towards the end of great leap forward(1958-1962), in any case China population in 1962 was still 50% larger than India, so even 50 million dead was nothing for you, there were plenty of people left to fight, and were better armed and had advangtage of first strike, i can go on and on. They were able to find 80,000 soldiers among 650 million Chinese, a small portion of which were not starving. 1%of 650 million is 6.5 million, so even if 99% were starving there were 6.5 million non starving. Leave out the women and you have 3.25 million, then make an approximation of who would be above 16 and below 40 and you can easily get 80,000 fit men to fight. Again, this is assuming that 99% were starving, if only 80 or 90% were starving, odds would be even better

There were only 20,000 indian soldiers deployed, so stop with your lame excuses, you had a population of 650 million and even if most of them were starving there was more than enough men.
