The Tunisian military's plans to acquire spy-planes, as anti-terrorist operations are increasingly carried out across the country, have raised the hopes of Italian defence group Leonardo. According to our sources, the Rome-based firm recently offered the Tunisian general staff at least two aircraft fitted out for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

Well... Seems TN is the third after Morocco and Algeria...
It could be possible, I mean, we are in need of it.
But the article, state that it wasn't a "wish" from TN, but a Leonardo move.
So after Morocco and Algeria...they try their move on TN...

Anti Terrorism Support Units with best Combat Capability is a must for Tunis.

Due to crisis done by ISIS in Bin Girdan lately a border Town with Libya

And the random attacks on western Tourist locations.

So it is a must.Even though every second guy in Tunis works as part time Spy for the Gov.

But latest gadgets are a must to deal with latest Terrorist threats

But latest gadgets are must to eliminate Terrorists

ISR aircraft would not have "stopped" neither prevented such attack...
As for the Spy "comments"... It's long gone...

And there is better gadget, needed to fight against "In-land" terrorist than few ISR aircraft...
They will, if bought, mostly use on Border control( External incursion, follow ups... etc...)

Leonardo-Finmeccanica has been selected to supply Beechcraft King Air 350ER aircraft, including their mission systems and sensor load-outs, for an African customer. The aircraft will be equipped with the company’s ATOS (airborne tactical observation and surveillance) mission system and a suite of sensors including the Leonardo Seaspray AESA surveillance radar, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponder and interrogator, Link 11 datalink and an integrated mission management system.

I saw it coming since late 2015

Agree
thus comes:

A/ the newly created Tunisian Intelligence Agency (a separate entity now from other ministries)
B/ Acquiring the best gadgets out there from radars to drones, sensors and spying systems.
C/ infiltrating terrorist groups which is obvious now regarding how the Tunisian forces just keep hunting down and eliminating key figures in AQIM that Algeria itself been chasing in vain since the 90s
to be honest I'd say kudos to the Tunisian state actually for learning how to deal with vermin fairly quickly

Algeria received some Beechcraft King Air 350ER ISR , few year ago.
But who knows.

That's an expensive article too, dang almost 10 Euros!?
I think it's awesome, especially if it's the Beechcraft King Air 350ER. Way overdue. Hope it happens by the end of this year.

Quite probably it would be this one
fingers crossed my friend :rolleyes1::rolleyes1:

Tunis. The Tunisian military’s plans to acquire spy-planes, as anti-terrorist operations are increasingly carried out across the country, have raised the hopes of Italian defence group Leonardo. […] the Rome-based firm recently offered the Tunisian general staff at least two aircraft fitted out for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The group’s confidence has been boosted by the good progress it is making in its negotiations for the supply of six spy planes to Algeria.

In Tunis, however, Leonardo has proposed lighter aircraft, which would assist or replace those provided by French-Luxembourger group CAE Aviation and an American contractor, probably Commuter Air Technology. The missions carried out by these latter aircraft for the Tunisian army are financed respectively, however, by France and the United States, which means that intelligence is shared. […] But American firms are also at work, taking advantage of the fact that the air force’s chief of staff, Mohamed El Hajjem, was defence attaché in Washington from 2014 to 2016. […] US company Textron has opened a branch of its subsidiary, AAI Services Corp., in Tunis.

This latter company, which specializes in maintenance and training, is currently trying to wrest a contract for the maintenance of 24 OH-58D attack helicopters from its rival, DynCorp. But Textron could have other ambitions.
Its subsidiary, Beechcraft, produces the King Air, a twin-engine aircraft very much in demand for ISR missions. It also makes the Shadow observation drone, which could interest Tunisia.
