Anyone care to explain why oman chooses israeli systems (MDR-80 mission data recorder, and GDS debrief software) to be installed in their F-16s?
And it is claimed the above-mentioned system is the baseline recorder for the Eurofighter Typhoon, does that mean that the saudis are flying around with israeli systems in their jets?

No it doesn't.

Oman likes to behave like it is not part of the region or this world even. They have no hostility with anyone nore is anyone is hostile to them. They are extremely closed in on themselves that you can even hardly find an Omani outside their country.
While we hold a certain rivalry with Iran, Oman has periodic military exercises with it.

Saudi Arabia is one of the few countries in the Arab world left to fully enforce the three nos resolution while others have stopped doing that to a certain degree. Most notable example regarding the Typhoon is that RAF (Royal Air Force "British") uses the litening III targeting pod on their Tornadoes and Typhoons while we opted for licensed production of french Democles.

So the answer to your question is: There is no way in hell the Saudi military would allow that.

Upon closer inspection of the Article, the Eurofighter Typhoon missions recorder uses the TAEC MDR-80. The ISraeli system is "RADA". So no, the Eurofighter does NOT use the Israeli system but the MDR-80 one made by TAEC.

Learn to read without pre-perceived prejudices okay?

you are right, speed reading through the article I mixed things up. The RADA system is the israeli one not the MDR-80.

Sorry to say that you are wrong on this one, I don't have any pre-perceived prejudice as you accuse me of. Which is quite a surprising claim especially when you don't know me or what I stand for.
I was basically questioning the claim (as I wrongfully understood it) that the RADA was installed on the EF. And thanks for clarifying things up.

ZOMG TEH DRAMA!!!11

Regardless of whichever System are proposed to be Installed F-16s Block 50/52 are a worthy Purchase for RAFO.

I hope Oman procure those additional 18 Vipers to replace SEPECAT Jaguars.

mosamania it is not necessary to discuss Oman's behavior, being normal let them decide and think as they should it is their land.
