i do not doubt j20 already had her first flight (china has plenty of room to hide i think)
the reason to leak the out look of this fighter is due to the stress at north east asia
so whether we gonna see the "frist flight" or not

Indeed, however the primary requirement for TVC is a uber powerful engine with supercruise ability.

Even MKI has TVC, but it is not that useful with a pair of underpowered engines.

In my opinion, TVC is useful with the engine at least in the level of WS-10G.
