JF-17B Updates, News & Discussion

I absolutely love the JF17 series and its capabilities, they are so stunning when they are flying. That said I just can't get to terms with the design of the two-seater variant, especially when it's on a static display. No offense to my Chinese brothers, the design seems primitive and reminds me of the Super Marine Attacker aircraft.

someone can remind me why 2P-86 is 20-626

and yet 2P-62 should be the last JF17A Block II?

Yes, a Hinge, three of them total, hideous for a otherwise very sleek looking jet.

PS: Per Bilal Khan ( QUWA ) , he saw it or was told about that also likely on the 5th Gen ( AZM ), per the dream he had, or something like that.
No. In the dream I was told by a PAF official that "AZM doesn't need to be 5th gen..." I think that's much worse than whether we see hinges on the aircraft or not.

Salaam and Mubarrak to everyone in Pakistan on this beautiful achievement.

Are you sure? The last ceremony of 8 JF-17b was that of 'production' not 'induction'. So maybe these 14 include those 8? Are any of these pictures new, can someone compare versus that other ceremony? Thanks. @Pakistan Space Agency @Shahzaz ud din @razgriz19 @Deino
Great !

Here's what's been produced so far. I'll compare the production serial numbers to induction serial numbers. Where the year is missing it's because I don't have any photo evidence of it.

Some questions that come to mind in regards to Block 2 Alphas:
  1. Were the additional 12 Block-2 Alphas that were ordered, were they all for the PAF or NAF as well?
  2. Did these 12 also include the 2 that crashed in 2011 and 2016 respectively?
  3. What will replace the third that crashed in 2020?
Please correct me wherever you notice any errors.

Made my day

What a shot !

I would like to see JF17A Block III flanked by 2 x JF17B Block II in March 2021 do fly past

I see 4 x in PAF Camo 10 x Yellow primer + 3 x Nigeria in behind the 3 tails

so 17 units in total
Good catch! I was wondering about the roundels in the background.
One thing for sure, next flypast on March 23rd inshallah will have the CAS flying in the JF-17 instead of the Fighting Falcon. What an amazing journey this has been. A complete underdog that has surprised even the most ardent of its detractors.

Hope the economy improves further, Pakistan can do a whole lot more in this space.

okay so as per GNN, apparently, the JF17 BLK3 is bigger & faster than the BLK1 & BLK2, powered by the RD93MA making it a Mach 2 fighter, armed with both PL15 AND PL10, AESA radar along with IRST (I'm assuming on an external pod)...how reliable is this? we ARE talking about Pakistani media after all, so...

IMO ... if the claim doesn't have, "ACM said..." anywhere, I wouldn't take it.
