Mid-life upgrade for F22P

I would say it is more of industry knowledge. The problems faced by PN are not unique to PN, in fact, pretty much every Navy which depends on "imports" has similar problems. The big players like US, France, Russia, etc have always tried to "Lock-in" customers. The main way of doing this is via "Propriety" software and hardware. Due to this, customers (example, Pakistan, India, etc) are literally held hostage by the providers as no one else has access their "Propriety" stuff.

But in the last 10 years but specially in the last 5-years, "Open Protocols" communications along with advancements in 'Controls' have paved the way for 'Plug and Play'. A lot of hardware is now off the shelf. No longer a "Propriety" software can hold you hostage as these days there is software based on open protocol which can literally sit on top of any existing software and can be customized to do anything.

You would notice that navies of Turkey and Pakistan now have in-house "software" solutions or at least they are going in that direction. And that is to enhance "Security" and the ability to "Customize" their software, although there is nothing wrong with Off-the Self software.

Hi,

It is also on the agriculture equipment in the US---. The modern tractors---if they break down---the owner cannot call his mechanic to come fix it----.

They have to call the dealer and get an appointment to get a mechanic to come in to fix the tractor or the harvestor or whatever---because the manufacturer does not provide the equipment to diagnose the problem---does not provide you information about the codes---you cannot open the box---you will have legal problems---.

Your harvest can destroy on the ground---you cannot sow any seed---.

The congress has been looking at it---.

F22p size and space wise can easily double its ssm load by tight packing ssm launchers and fm-90 front section can easily be upgraded by Alberatos NG or rolling frame 21 missile launcher like Chinese 054 upgrade

with German. And otherwestern equipment its still aMorden. Paltform

The front side can easily house a 16-Cells VLS and even the Middle Section of the Ship as well.

Ideal Upgrade Package Should be

1- New Chinese CWIZ (Close in weapon at back)
2- Upgraded Ship to Air , Missiles Package

China has completed work on various Close Range Weaponry so it would be a Logical Upgrade in future

Other then that most of the Ship is pretty new

"Zulfiquar Class frigate is a class of 3,000t multi-mission guided missile frigates, in service with the Pakistan Navy. It is based on a customized model of the Chinese design, the Type 053H3.

The contract, valued at $750 million, for four F-22P frigates & six Harbin Z-9EC helicopters for the Pakistan Navy, was signed in May 2006. The contract also included ToT under which the construction and development of the last ship took place at KS&EW, Karachi.

The ship needs a modern air defense missile. Something like the FM-3000N (max range 30/45 km). If it’s small enough, replacing the 8 cells launcher should be replaced with 16-32 missile VLS cells.

"..The upgrade MLU of F-22P would mean the surface fleet of PN with Tughril Class Type 054A/P guided missile frigates, Babur Class MILGEM Frigates & MLUed Sword class F-22Ps , with addition of Jinnah class could serve them until PN Pockets are ready to accommodate a 7500 Ton Type 52DE AAD Destroyer China."

Would be nice, but if im not wrong, FM-3000N is not navalized and its hasnt been adopted by PLAN which may make PN reluctant about it. Also depth of the VLS may play a role as im not sure how much space is available below deck (though i bet there is a way to have the launcher partially above deck much like the Sa'ar 5 and Type 23 VLS launchers are. Would ideally prefer a way to get CAMM-ER on them for logistical purposes but even Jinnah and Baburs will likely get a quick upgrade to a turkish VLS when available to allow for. Quad packed CAMM.

Perhaps the PLAN will be looking to upgrade its Type 056A corvettes with a navalized version of the FM-3000N. A joint collaboration could pay dividends. China is going to need a lot of cheap air defense missiles and in large volumes to deal with the thousands of LRASM and other anti ship missiles the U.S. is procuring. Furthermore a system that can also deal with the supersonic Brahmos and it’s possible hypersonic successor will make it future proof and be crucial to providing any force that tries to land on Taiwan a defensive umbrella in terms of capability and capacity.

A system like this would also sell well on the international arms market.

I don't see any interest in 056 from PN. I think they prefer more Yarmook batch 2, which, while larger, are likely fairly cheap and far more effective. With CAMM-ER, i dont see any role of Chinese medium range sams in PN outside of 054A/hq-16. Probably not till hq16f or hq-9 will you see more chinese SAMs except maybe FL-3000N (hq-10) on F-22P . However, if PN goes towards a turkish mlu you could see mildas/camm or 21 cell Levent in place of FM-90

The Type 056A with such an upgrade could appeal to navies other than the PN. For the PN, the upgrade to the F-22P would be integrating the FM-3000N, or a Chinese equivalent to the CAMM-ER; 4.3 mm long 190mm diameter and 45km range (perhaps with a dual pulse rocket motor).

But if the PN wants to go for the same system as on the Jinnah class ships, that would be fine for the PN too. It would just be a misused opportunity for the PLAN to develop and acquire a better lower level air defense missile.

Hi
with all these upgrades to F22 class can someone shed
some light and info about engine capacity if the ship
with all these upgrades still the current engine can hold
the ship up to the mark
thank you
