Train D3119 passing through (the then under-construction)Hangzhou East Station Hub:

Considered the largest of its kind in Asia and serving many modes of transport including high-speed trains、meglav trains、subway trains、long-distance coaches、city buses and taxis etc,the Hub was formally brought into service today。

Hangzhou, known for its West Lake, is one of my fave cities in China:

This is pretty good news. The existing high speed trains from Nanjing to Hangzhou currently are running on Nanjing-Shanghai HSR and Shanghai-Hangzhou HSR. When the new line opens, they do not have to go to Shanghai first, and it is going to boost the cities on the line as well.

.

For trips from Nanjing to Hangzhou, how much time will it save compared to the existing HSRs?

These are the stations on the Nanjing-Shanghai HSR and Shanghai-Hangzhou HSR if my memory serves me right.

With total floor area in excess of 340,000 square metres, the Hub even has water transport(shipping?)as one of its transport modes。
