New Zealand Center for Defense: Iran likely to purchase JF-17 after arms embargo lifted

If only iran was not hostile to Pakistan. This would be an easy task. But iran is somewhat hostile or suspecious country with ties to india.

If india is kicked out of iran by this then i'd say its a good opportunity.

The Saudis won't let it happen. Block 3 with PL15 and SOWs would present a serious danger. The Israelis may not care (F35), but the Arabs will.

IF a deal happens, it will be between China and Iran, and I'm sure the Chinese will restrict Indian access. The Iranians may betray Pak, but won't risk betraying the Chinese.
Yet pakistan pen 58 percent of the project

iran has been involved in anti pakistan activities and is in bed with india so there are cances that iran will give india access to these jets.

Those were old times bro, Since the time India is in the lap of America, the closeness between Iran and India isn't the same. Likewise, Russia isn't close either now, you can sense their closeness by this China-India-Nepal standoff none of the two nations said a word neither in favor of India nor against China-Nepal. In the meanwhile, we have improved our bilateral ties with both Russia and Iran and IK has neutralized both these countries now and it was much needed (Change in Foreign Policy)!

my friend , Iranians are emotional people, who thinks highly of their glorious past, For them we are just a small nation with no history. It would be against their national pride to buy anything from Pak.

Bro, you're right they are emotional people and they have a legacy too but the thing is that the 2019 dogfight has proved Jf-17 to the whole world specifically when the gunned down aircraft belong to Russia, Iran will never go for an option which will cost much and result in humiliation.

i think iran will buy tejas from india

Even the makers are ashamed of that aircraft! How can another international country gets interested in Tejas?
Even my paper made plane fly more than the Tejas in terms of seconds/minutes!

Iran might be able to afford Su-57s if they stop paying for BLA terrorists Indian visa and weapons.

Why will Iran think of buying aircraft from Pakistan or Russia didn't they had their own twin-engine stealth aircraft F-313?

Cheap is the worst marketing term you can use.....
Probablyba cheapster walking on a street may fall for that but not a country, if you'll tell a country that this specific thing is cheap, it'll only say no thank you.
New marketing strategy is needed for Block 3 and we may grab some customers.
This jet has potential, it should get orders from 4-5 more places. Sadly we couldn't from Sri Lanka!

That's why you don't say its cheap, you say it's "excellent value" and "competitively priced"

they already compleated negociations and all issues related to the export to Azerbaijan have already been resolved. Planes of JF-17 Block II configuration requested by Azerbaijan passed the test.

Are you sure?

"As part of military-technical cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, a group of specialists of the Air Force of Azerbaijan visited the enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Russia.

The Azerbaijani delegation visited Russian military plants manufacturing Su-35 and MiG-35 combat aircraft. During meetings with representatives of one of the leaders of the global arms market in Russia, the "Rosoboronexport" Company and the leadership of military plants, our country expressed its interest in purchasing the most advanced Russian-made combat aircraft.

The Azerbaijani delegation was presented with briefings on the characteristics, combat capabilities, armament of combat aircraft, as well as the production, operation, and maintenance of air assets.

The Russian side, in turn, expressed its readiness to deliver combat aircraft to our country in a quantity that meets the needs of the Azerbaijan Air Force.

Azerbaijani military pilots have performed practical flights on MiG-35 aircraft at Russian military airbases."

Azerbaijan-Israel relations are a major concern for JF-17

What is there in JF-17 that Israel would care about?

Using western tech in JF-17 is a bad idea anyway so I don't see the problem here
Martin Baker ejection seats/ ECM/ and some of the electronic gear is western my friend
RD-93 is a modified version of RD-33
Yeah putting western tech on JF-17 is a terrible idea.
Some of tech in JF-17 blk-2 is already western like ejection seat/ECM gears
Frankly I am amazed why Pakistan doesn't already have it
JF-17 is almost as capable as early J-10 and up coming block-3 uses lots of tech from J-10C/J-20 with a exception of payload and some avionics

Not gonna happen. Neither the arabs or iranians are going to buy jf17, Both are too proudy to buy that jet from Pak.
It is not about pride, it was evaluated and found to be lacking.

Blk1 didn't even have OBOG, neither was there a tandem seater available. PAF were of the opinion it was not required.

Given their role in backing Indian terrorism in Pakistan, I dont think Thunders will be exported to them.
