The irony of it, the video's message is supposed to be anti-colonial, and the music is pretty much the whitest song one can thing of, something out of a circa 1960s american south redneck town and the photos are mostly of white people having fun.

These vintage photos are very deceiving and show the life of a very small percentage of population, you can find similar photos today of white people and elite enjoying five star hotels and stuff. However, factually, there is simply no comparison between life in the 50s and 60s and today, literacy back then was probably like 10-15% and more than 90% lived below poverty line.

I would also wager that without any digital trails and all transactions taking place in cash, there must have been way more corruption back then than there is today.

I looked up 200m Olympics. Gold, silver, and bronze were won by Americans. A Pakistani made it to the semifinal round which is a significant achievement but why is he advertised as the gold medalist in the picture? Maybe it is another symptom of the problem he bemoans.

Actually Pakistan HDI has steadily improved since independence as well as agriculture, industry, service industry etc has improved massively

Military actually took over soon after the independence after killing Liaqat Ali khan starting the military policy of not letting any leader popular, but early military leaderships had some form of patriotism combined with hunger for power. but as military got involved with property dealership they slowly started to gather all the qualities of property dealers....lying, deceit, cheating etc etc....what we now have is no military but only the property dealers association with power to turn any land in to residential plots...the entire country is for grab, by hook or by crook, collecting and supporting crooks to head the country who turn the blind eyes to general's corruptions before they head for a foreign country after retirement.
