In western countries, democracy generally helps to contain corruption.

The funny thing is why Indian democracy managed to make Indians more corrupted?

In the future, are we going to see more Indians corrupted or less? Any trend?

Oh please there is corruption everywhere, just look at the current US President and his advisers most of them are former wall street who have/had funded his campaign. Look at Solyndra, how it got half a billion dollar in loan and then went bankrupt and how it was all kept hush hush. All countries have corruption doesn't matter how saintly one thinks their government is.

I think democracy requires a decently educated, civic-minded population to work. I hope Indians don't interpret this as a partisan jab at their country, but at a 75% literacy rate, I don't think India is ready for democracy, at least on a local level. It should have seen a staggered introduction in the most advanced states like Kerala first.

LOL I thought 90% indians are corrupt.

So corruption is decreasing 1 in 3 means only 33%, thats good figure infact.
