A uniform that lasted decades and etched in our memories the most, was created by a well-known Pakistani dress designer Nahid Azfar and was introduced by the airline in October 1986.

The Shalwar Kameez outfit was made available in four colours. Moss green and old rose for summer and burgundy, PIA green for winter. The bags and shoes were in burgundy, and for the winter there was a burgundy coloured overcoat.

In the 70's these shorter shirts and straight pyjamas were inspired by Pierre Cardin's design of the PIA hostess uniform.

Momi is seen here in airline's 1950s cabin crew uniform. She was one of PIA's highly trained & professional cabin crew members of 1950s and 1960s. She was tall, fair with film-star looks. PIA had featured Momi in its many advertisements and it is said that when she smiled, she made others smile.

Sultan Rahi

Rugged looks, brawny and stocky, with an aggressive style of dialogue delivery. Sultan Rahi the Pakistani film superstar was the ultimate action hero and firmly established himself as the biggest film personality from Pakistan. He was a Pakistani version of Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone, and James Bond all rolled into one with a Punjabi touch.

He appeared in over 800 movies. Starting his career playing as a villain or character roles he gradually progressed to a hero. However, following the phenomenal success of Maula Jat (1979) he, in tandem with Mustafa Qureshi, was considered essential in any Punjabi movie hoping to succeed. He played the most number of 'title roles'.

Some of his major films include Maula Jatt, Sher Khan (1981), Chan Veryam (1981), Kaley Chore, and Sakhi Badshah (1996). A one-man film industry power-house during the 1980s and 90's he had an extremely successful film career which came to a tragic and premature end with his assassination in January 1996.

Khalida Riyasat has won may hearts with her brilliant acting. She started her drama journey in the 1970s with Naamdaar, alongside famous Pakistani actor, Shakeel.

However, she reached new heights after she was cast in Bandish, a PTV drama serial penned by Hasina Moin and produced by Mohsin Ali.

Khalida's acting alongside late actor Moin Akhtar in an extraordinarily humourous long play, Half-Playt, by Anwar Maqsood, is still recalled by many.
