Pakistan's nuclear installations unharmed by quake
Islamabad, Oct 13, IRNA

Pakistan-Nuclear
Pakistan on Thursday rejected media reports which said Saturday's earthquake damaged nuclear installations in the country.

Talking to a local private television channel, Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Shaukat Sultan said that the installations were robust and shockproof.

He explained that an earthquake or even direct bomb could not cause any harm to the nuclear installations. Such reports are being spread by those who don't have any knowledge about such matters, the chief spokesman of the armed forces contended.

A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 on the Richter scale hit Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir on Saturday.

Thousands of people died while over a million were injured.

Around 0.25 million buildings, houses and gov't offices were destroyed.

The spokesman also denied talk of some Indian Army personnel crossing the Line of Control (the line dividing both parts of Kashmir) and helping Pakistani soldiers in the reconstruction of their bunkers, destroyed by the earthquake.
