What's new

Phased fencing of Pak-Afghan border begins

Good hope 24/7 Surviliance with latest technology and physical check post should be present

And send Afghanis back home

Try to picture Nawaz Sharif speaking like Trump saying We're gonna build a Big Wall etc and its really funny.

On a serious note, this should have been done a long time ago. Better late than never I guess...

After this there should not be any excuses regarding cross border terrorism...

the wall or fencing have been required from past 10 years as it has been started NOW they need to take it to step further and not just stop it only at afgan border take it to the end of the IRAN BORDER i know the army has fenced some parts of iranian border as welll but if its not fully completed then the whole border needs to be fenced and mins needs to be placed around the fence with trenches and sensors.
any one coming close to the border needs to be shot dead right away without asking any questions it is harsh but that is what needs to be done instead of filling our jails .
the further steps we need to take our start installing the big TRUCK SCANNERS and dont let any vehicle come in to Pakistan and going from PAKISTAN without getting scanned .We did bought few of these scanners but i havent seen any pics of them actually working any where (may be a senior member will know better then me )
2nd start taking finger prints and facial scans of people going to Iran and Afghanistan and coming to pakistan as well .search every single person slow it down for afganis to come in pakistan make it as difficult as we can for them .
3rd instead of using our normal work force to build this wall we need to use prisoners who are sitting in our jails and we our feeding them to get fat .offer them incentives like if they do 1 year of work in helping build the wall and roads they will get one or two month off from there sentence only if they do work in FATA KPK AND BALocHISTAN ....when these prisoners are done with building roads move them to build dams and laying railway lines ...........SAVE MONEY.....but no prisoner from kpk or fata or Baluchistan should be used as they will be local dont want them to escape .....use the prisoners in sindh and punjab in FATA ,KPK AND BAlochHISTAN and same thing needs to be done with prisoners in kpk and Balochistan send them punajb and sindh

GO OLD SCHOOL hard labour FOR PRISONERS.....
BUILD A LONG AND BEAUTIFUL WALL WITH RAINBOWS AND UNICORNS :)
name the wall THE GREAT WALL OF PAKISTAN

any more suggestions are welcome lol
Firmly believe we need to improve the Kasadar and Levies forces along the western and south western border. Black shalwar kameez with sandals armed with only an AK47 is not sufficient enough! Need a robust hardened Paramilitery border force. No exceptions I frankly do not trust the Iranians and certainly not the Afghans.

Mine it heavily as well, the savages other side have a lot to blow it away, Auto Search lights Sharks Alligators put anything thing around it and large poster size poster photos of Bhai might give extra cautions:P @Zibago

Fencing was needed but heavily mining of the border is needed as well. PA should use armed drones to target rented terrorists who will make an attempt to cross the border, the order should be shoot to kill.

Army announced on Tuesday the commencement of fencing on the Pak-Afghan border.

“In line with the directions of COAS, phased fencing of entire Pak-Afghan border has commenced,” the military’e media wing said.

“In phase 1, high infiltration prone border areas in Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber Agencies are being fenced,” it said. “In phase 2 fencing of remaining border areas including Balochistan will be executed.”

Terrorism can’t be defeated by finger-pointing: Gen Qamar

Besides fencing, the statement added, Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are constructing new forts. “Border posts [are being built] to improve surveillance and defence.”

“A secure Pak-Afghan border is in common interest of both countries and a well coordinated border security mechanism is essential for enduring peace and stability.”

Pakistan insists fencing and other measures are aimed at checking cross-border movement of militants, blamed for violence in both the countries.

At least 10 people including an FC personnel and women, children were killed and 47 others injured when Afghan forces targeted troops guarding a census team in Chaman last month.

The attack caused the border to be closed again indefinitely while a curfew was imposed in Torkham bazaar as a preemptive measure.

EXCELLENT NEWS!
Thank for sharing.

This should have been been done YEARS ago but still, better late than never. I hope the wok in now under taken on war footings. We need to fence that border, guard with with armed posts with instructions to kill anything that even remotely looks interested in crossing it, the next step, push all those Afghans westward from that fence. We are really getting beaten up quite bad and need to get our house in order NOW.

The Afghans should also install similar setup on their side of boarder with heavy mines as well. Negotiations and getting back any territory after scrapping Durand line is far from reality. :)

They are protesting that why we are fencing the border..you are asking them to do it on there side..Sanity does not prevail in afghanistan.

News report from 2014
Dawn news

1100 km ditch completed ;

Yes it became quite an issue during the Chaman conflict bcz the afghan thugs thought that the border was the trench and Pakistan was saying that they are right in census bcz the border is between the villages. Well they were then taught geography by us.

Anyhow the step is very much right and must be applauded and we also must understand that the border is 2640km long and it will take many many years to secure the entire border and even then there will be many parts that won't be manned or fenced. We can mitigate but I don't think we can remove it. Its just too long and to rugged. There are mountains, rivers and deserts.

Afghani rear on fire

When have their rears not been on fire.

Check this out

Pakistani troops will maintain their positions along the international border in Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangir villages on the Pakistani side of the border, it was stated further.

At present, the demarcation of the villages has been conducted with barbed wires erected and checkposts established on the ‘zero line’.

Other topics, like raising barbed wires around two Pakistani border villages Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangir, were also discussed, sources said.

Another flag meeting to be held after Ramazan will resolve the issue once for all.

According to sources, Afghan officials objected to the barbed wiring of the aforementioned villages. Pakistani officials said that the issue would be resolved at the Islamabad and Kabul level.

So you see they have always been mad about it despite continuously claiming that terrorists use porousness of the border to enter Afghanistan and leave it. Good lord I have not seen a more confused and hypocritic and quite frankly simply directionless country in the world. They say opium spread is due to porousness, terrorism is due to porousness and every ill is due to porousness yet don't secure it.

It's a messy situation.

On the bordering areas.. even Afghan villagers have Pak CNICs.

Once I was travelling with my father on the Pak Afghan border... and out of nowhere we found an old man duck in a ditch, (trying to cross the border) when he saw our convoy... dude threw his Honda with Zahedan plates and jumped in a ditch..

We asked the guy to come out ... scared he produced his CNIC and after some search his afghani ID..
