May 08, 2016

ISLAMABAD - National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has found missing the election material of 29 polling stations of incumbent Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s constituency NA-110.

According to the NADRA pre-scanning report, submitted in the Supreme Court, the election material of total 29 polling stations including 12, 21, 22, 38, 47, 54, 68, 73, 76, 81, 84, 101, 107, 116, 118, 121, 124, 132, 134, 138, 153, 170, 186, 202, 203, 215, 216, 217 and 218 is missing, while 242 used counter-foils are also missing.

A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Usman Dar’s appeal, on January 20 had ordered NADRA to submit pre-scanning of counter foils and thumb impression reports in three months time.
Complying the court order, the NADRA had submitted the pre-scanning report but in its reply stated that the thumb impressions verification will be filed later on.

The bench had said that after examining the NADRA report they would pass an appropriate order, while the appellant was asked to bear the verification expenses.

The report said that total 1729 counterfoils books were received.
Out of them eight books could not be scanned due to seepage found in the polling station No.
189.
Total 152025 counterfoils scanned including used counterfoils and used un-numbered counterfoils, while 803 counterfoils could not be scanned due to seepage found in polling station 189.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif had won the general election 2013 from NA-110 by securing 92,848 votes while his opponent Usman Dar received 71,573 votes.
The election tribunal had dismissed the petition of Dar.

The PTI after the general election 2013 had approached the apex court for verification of thumb impressions of votes in NA-110, NA-122, NA-125 and NA 154.

The chief justice also asked Nadra to verify the thumb impression of the ballot papers and the pre-scanning of the counter-foils of Kh Saad Rafiq’s constituency NA-125.
However, the PTI leader Hamid Khan was reluctant to bear the expenses of verification.

You mean NA-110 :p :p :p .. Only two years left to the next election. Imran should focus a lot on better anti-rigging devices and methods to be used in the 2018 elections so that this is not repeated again.

Just last year and this year , PTI has lost heavily in almost all bye elections and local bodies elections to either Pmln in Punjab , some parts of KPK and to MQM in Karachi . If this bye election comes result would be the same .
