Putin wants 'unfriendly' countries to pay for Russian gas in roubles

Tell them to Singaporean, you are Indian, you dont know our region. Of course there is no value in invading Singaporean, but human psychology sometime goes beyond that, this is why they spend huge in defense relative to their own GDP.

I would recommend you to read Lee Kuan Yew defense strategy "poison shrimp" and what is behind such strategy
Thanks for the recommendation. I have spent some time in Singapore, though that was more or less a basing area for projects in your country. Singapore seems to be a country that wants to ensure that it is prepared for any eventuality. It's a good thing, but it also keeps everyone on the edge all the time.

Given that you and Singapore are now both US allies, the tensions should ease relatively, no?

And all this for what? To be on the good side of America. All these wars just to be on the good side of the Saudis and the Americans. All these years, all these wars...
Because America suddenly wants to help Ukraine, the world has to suffer. Because they want to impose sanctions on Russia,
millions of people have to pay crazy bills for power and gas

Indeed. It's not like Europe is having any specific benefits in this war with taking the American side. France is the only country in Europe that is trying to use some common sense.. while maintaining a hard position to compel Russia to cease the conflict, Macron has maintained a formal line of communication as well.

I never understood why UK is being so aggressive though; even more than the Americans at times.

Actually there is no tension with Singapore in international politics, we dont have any border issue with them, similar thing also happen with Philippine, and Australia.

Despite so, due to our previous leaders like Soekarno ( attempt to invade Malaysia and has bomb Singapore 50 times ) and Soeharto ( Invading East Timor ), Singapore cannot lose their defense and act like Israel in term of defense strategy to keep technology ahead of their bigger neighboor. Their defense consultant is Israel and has close relationship with Israel in defense industry as well.

Actually with the emergence of democracy in Indonesia, it is become less likely we act like Putin to our neighbor, people will oppose it. Invading other nation is actually against our constitution and our President will be impeach if they do so as we have Constitution Court that can impeach our President if he/she violates our constitution.

UK is trying to follow the US but make a bigger noise. After they quit from EU they have little say in international political events,if they don't speak and speak loudly, nobody would give a f*ck.

That's what it really feels like. It's weird since they didn't want to remain in Europe and instead, wanted to focus on problems outside the area. Plus, this war is a blessing in disguise for Boris who is being hated on in the UK for local politics  .

No wonder he took it up with so much passion and intensity.

Don't have a negative opinion on Putin, bud. It's not like he wanted to wage war on the people that he considers his own. There's very few differences between Russians and Ukrainians; countries like UK have more diversity inside (without immigration) than these two. The top commander leading the Russian war machine in Ukraine is of Ukrainian origin himself (surnames are a dead give away). Putin is acting the same way as an Russia-loving president would; ensuring that NATO does not surround them.

Indonesia may want to be careful putting all eggs in one (Western) basket at this point. Why? because you are not a White-Christian country. Allies in that hue have to be either like Japan, South Korea, or be reduced to the status of Gulf client states. Either ways, you won't have much of an independent policy if you side with them. Oh, and goodbye to your domestic political autonomy too.

Good news.
Kick the dollar out!
It's about avoid sanctions, it's not dollar related.
If EU wants to buy Russian natural gas, they need first to sell things to Russia and get rubles, so they can't sanction very much or they won't get rubles.
