I wish they could get approval etc. Imagine a situation, you get out from work and your office is on Mall Road, where these players are staying. The road is closed. Well after two three hours you manage to get on the Canal Road or Ferozpur Road, where the stadium is , you again stuck in that traffic for another 2 to 3 hours. It really sucks if you are diabetic and you need to pee :-/

Lahore needs new 7 star hotel and new make over of the iconic Gaddaffi stadium.

New bright lights required on the towers. More shops, parking spaces, playing grounds required for total new over haul of Lahore

If you look at the Gaddafi cricket stadium area around it, with the hockey stadium and track and field stadium just around it, and other stadiums like the intl' standard swimming pool and cricket training academy...I am afraid there is not enough space to expand it...

Making it a 60,000 or 1 hundred thousand spectators stadium means twice to thrice the size of the stands...

And it will destroy the sports precincts as well...like this is not just about cricket but other sports as well.

New pool area and cultural complex, and indoor sports area is visible here...

The whole area is a sports city kind of place...not just about cricket.

Beautiful setup just need some care of the infrastructure and outer space which needs to be taken care of

1- Cricket International Stadium (Needs painting done on roof/exterior)
1B External Cricket field/Training or warmup field in bad shape

2- Hockey International Stadium (Needs proper seats and Lights)
2B External Hockey field , existing but looks in bad shape

3- Football and Track and field stadium , looks under developed and football field is in bad shape (Need Artificial Turf)
3b Training Ground in bad shape (Needs Artificial Turf)
Looks like in later pictures some building structures have been setup over the land

4-Olympic Sprint Cycling Track

5- Swimming Pool 10-12 lane , looks ok

6- Badminton stadium , the building looks too big for event

7 - Cultural /Arts center unsure how it is used, should just make a world class Gym or fitness center for 5,000 Users
No one is going to the debate Olympics , a world class Gym would serve better purpose

8 I see lot of land could be used to make

a) 5 Tennis courts​

b) 3 Basketball / Volleyball courts​

c) 2 Parking Plazas​

Both National stadium in Karachi and Qadafi stadium have humongous boundaries over 100 meters. These need to be reduced and seating need to be brought in closer to give spectators a more closer and intimate experience a la the grounds in UK and SA. Instead of going outward, seating capacity needs to expand inward with two tiers/levels using modern cantilever construction technique instead of the hideous local mistry designed roman columns obstructing the view.

That's one hideous looking stadium. We should model our stadiums on the Dubai stadium and just scale it up for 50K capacity.

Grass field looks wonderful just the top covers of the stadium need repainting , Servicing otherwise this is in good shape , specially since PSL will be hosted here

With arrival of Drone video cameras now every section of stadium is viewable including the top of the stadium , for areal views , now some touch up is needed at top of the roof as well.

Don’t demolish the old exterior walls, but demolish the stands.

Then:
1. Build a steel support structure around the old walls

2. Build a new tiered stadium on top of the steel frames. (This will give the effect of the new stadium rising from the old one)

3. lower the playing field 3-4 meters so that we do not need metal prison like fenced to separate the fans from the field.

4. Install coloured lights in the interior roofs
and external walls for various audio visual set ups.

5. Have a hotel within the stadium compound for the visiting and host teams, plus a metro rail station for spectators and residents on non match days.
