MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi

Hyderabad:
MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Wednesday said the financial situation of the state is even worse than the power crisis. He also expressed concern over the mounting public debt and said the government should disclose all the details in front of public.

Mr Owaisi also asked the government to reclaim the Wakf property in Saudi Arabia, worth billions of dollars, apart from the properties of Nizam in the neighbouring states. “Compensation should be sought from multinationals like Microsoft and Wipro as these are located on Wakf land,” he said.

Speaking during the discussion on Budget on Wednesday, Mr Owaisi said the Telangana government is the custodian of Wakf properties in Maharashtra, Karnataka and even in Saudi Arabia, adjacent to the shrine of Mecca, which offers accommodation to the Haj pilgrims.

“Telangana government is the custodian of these properties. The government should write to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the ministry of external Affairs and stake claim over Wakf properties there, worth billions,” Mr Owaisi said.

He suggested that the state government should constitute a panel to look into the issue, adding that doing so would help Haj pilgrims with free accommodation.

Here he is talking about accommodation building for pilgrims coming to the Mecca from Hyderabad state and this building belongs to the people of Hyderabad state. It was purchased in 1860 by Nizam V, Afzal ad-Dawlah, Asaf Jah V for the people of Hyderabad State. Originally there were 42 buildings and most of the building are gone in the expansion of Mecca city.

Here Telangana Government even asking the Central Government to raise this issue with Saudi Establishment, its a case of Compensation and if this compensation comes it can be use in the upliftment of Muslims of telangana and parts of Karnataka and Maharastra etc.

Efforts on to ensure Rubat accommodation for Telangana pilgrims | Siasat

Hyderabad, March 21:

Making a breakthrough in ensuring Rubat accommodation for Telangana pilgrims the government has made contact with Council General of Jeddah with the help of Central Hajj Committee. Government is trying to conduct drawing of lot in Hyderabad for accommodation in Rubat through reconciliation between Awqaf Committee and Rubat Caretaker. Indian Council General in Jeddah has shown interest in settlement of the row and offered to be present in Hyderabad on the occasion of drawing of lots.

Government of Telangana is keen to ensure Rubat accommodation for Telangana pilgrims during Hajj 2015. Pilgrims have been deprived of Rubat accommodation for the past two years due to dispute between Rubat caretaker and Nizam Awqaf Committee.

*******************************

The dispute between caretaker of rubat, Hussain Shareef, a Saudi national of Hyderabadi origin, and the Awqaf Committee has been going on for the last three years. The situation worsened to such a level last year that no pilgrim was given accommodation by either of them. The caretaker claims that he should be allowed to declare through a draw of lot who gets accommodation in the rubat. He also accuses the Awqaf Committee of serious irregularities in the allotment of accommodation from Hyderabad.

The Awqaf Committee, on the other hand, declares that a caretaker 'is a mere caretaker' and should only follow the panel's instructions, which represents the mutawalli or custodian of the rubat. He has crossed his line and wants to take over the entire operation into his hands. That cannot be allowed, committee member Faiz Khan said.

Khan said there were 17 rubats in Saudi Arabia which were taken over by the Kingdom's government for the expansion of the holy sites. "We are trying to find out what happened to the compensation that was given by government," he said.

Even as the Awqaf Committee and the caretaker wrangle over their right to allot accommodation, the poor pilgrims from Hyderabad are unsure whether they would fail to get accommodation in rubat this year too.
