Well so far, except for the Anti-air missiles, what else is Russia planning to sell the Iranians?

First and foremost, Iran needs a well equipped, PROFESSIONAL Airforce. Mig-29's and F-14's won't be a match to counter the Israeli Air-Force. Secondly, Iran needs a New generation MBT and shouldn't rely on the "Zulfiqar". they should procure T-80's or T-90's.

By the way, does anyone know what happened to the 250 SU-30MKM Deal?

There was no 250 MKM deal. |It was hyperbole generated by some so called "thinktank" in Israel. The deal as it was quoted made no sense.

Upgradition of the Iranina AF is a must if it choses to continue with its nuclear programe while keeping Israel at bay. Just by having an air defence system, does not mean you are fully protected against a modern airforce such as the israeli airforce which knows how to jam radars and strike.
If Iran can, it should enter into deals with russia for the SU series or even perhaps the Migs, it will however still take time for the iranian pilots to reach the level of a professional airforce such as that of Israel.

Iran needs to join Pakistan and China in defense collaborations. We need to see where we can share the burdens and over come obstacles together, in a timely and effective manner. They are also very independent minded as a nation and want to manufacture their equipment themselves as much as Pakistan and China.

The SU30 deal was yellow journalism, I believe a Russian official denied it ever being discussed between Iran and Sukhoi. Irani's are looking at home grown solutions to their aerial needs.

So apart from S300, I don't think they are too worried, Russia is already assisting them in the nuclear field, I think Pakistan and China should step in for further defense needs.
