Saudi Arabia always assure investment in countries like Bangladesh but always invest in the West. Same with UAE and other Gulf countries.

Yes, another empty promise. These guys are paying hundreds of millions of dollars to footballers who are past their prime. No one's watching Saudi football no matter how many players they buy.

Instead, they could have helped reduce poverty in Muslim countries with the money they spend on these lavish vanity projects. These Saudis and the Emiratis sickens me. Allah blessed them with riches and they are wasting it all on tower building competitions (read d**k measuring) and luxury. They will pay the price in this world or the next.

wat they do is make muslim countries grovel for petty investment while showering west in the billions upon billions.

Countries have the right to invest in the place where they find good profitability. As for buying players, this is a sporting investment and a trend to attract profitability and soft power to Saudi Arabia. Indeed, the league matches are transferred to 120 countries, meaning that there is momentum to watch this strongest league in Asia and the Arab world.

You speak as if the Gulf countries are obligated to the poor of other Islamic countries, even though the Gulf countries are abundant in charitable assistance and donations to developing Islamic countries. As for projects and towers, they are investment and industry to reduce dependence on oil and not to brag, as I said with all ignorance and hatred.

As for investing in the West, it is logical, as the West currently possesses technical and knowledge superiority in most economic and scientific fields in the world, from semiconductors to orbital space stations, but in recent years, Arab countries have sought to attract scientific capabilities to them.

As for your unbridled imagination about hunger in our countries, we are indispensable for you before and after oil, with God’s help. We, as the Arab Gulf states, have employed your people in our countries and give financial grants and loans and helped you in your nuclear program, generally helped and support in various fields.

To All Pakistanis who are going to visit this thread. Always remember who it started with and who let that slide to their own benefit....

Yes, from Islamic point of view, they absolutely do have an obligation.

I have no interest in discussing this from any other perspective apart from that of their roles as Muslims.

You can be deluded with your nationalist view, clearly it got the Arabs into nothing but Western slavery. That's the price you pay for moving away from Islam.

Yeah right. Even if you pay people, they won't watch the garbage football league with bunch of old timers. May be the most ardent Ronaldo fans, but that's about it.

Mash'Allah we are happy for Bangladesh. May Bangladesh prosper.

True Middle Eastern Monarchies should do charity in Zakat and Sadaqa, but the rest is their money. They can do what they please with it.

Hopefully Arab League in OIC will turn to China for investment. China is an alternative to the West (USA + EU)

Saudi Arabia has also invested in some Chinese automakers.

Thanks to all Arab brothers for their support to Chinese manufacturing.

I agree with you, except that one part about they can do what they please with it.

They should be responsible in how they spend the money that Allah has blessed them with.

Let's forget about them helping other poor Muslim countries or the refugees fleeing persecution. By help I mean something substantial to actively resolve issues like repatriation of Rohingya and Afghani refugees, standing up for PALESTINE - as opposed to just throwing Zakat money and wiping their hands clean.

Even for their own country's development, what have they really done with all their money? They are still dependent on West for everything. There is no industry of any substance apart from oil and gas. Militarily they are completely at the mercy of the West. They have no substantial clout when it comes to geopolitics. They have bowed down to Israel.

With such wealth at their disposal, the Gulf states in unison could have been a global superpower, only if they had spent the money responsibly in developing themselves.

With such issues present, spending lavishly and wastefully on the variety of vanity projects is nothing but irresponsible and immoral.

You are right to a certain extent. But it is their money, we have no right to dictate how they should spend their money if they do Zakat and Sadaqa.
