Т-50 с двигателями «изд. 30» совершит первый полет в 2017 году - ВПК.name

United Engine Company (APC) has been developing the engine for the second stage of the fifth generation fighter T-50 PAKFA so as to ensure that the beginning of flight tests with the new power plant in 2017, according to Lenta.ru referring to the statement of the General Director Vladislav UEC Masalova.

Masalov said that it will be the engines with the "primary resource", which in the future will ensure the achievement of the T-50 supersonic cruising speed. According to him, the main parameters of the engine will be 15-18% more efficient than currently used turbofan "article 117 '. This engine is a further development turbofans AL-41FS (" the product 117C "), the Su-35S and installed a prototype T-50.

The engine of the second stage is known as "article 30" (formerly erroneously referred to as "product 129"). In April 2011, the managing director of "Saturn" Ilya Fedorov said that the bench tests turbofans will begin in 2014. Traction Engine for maximal should reach 107 kN (11,000 kg), in the afterburner 176 kN (about 18,000 kg). Compared similar parameters turbofan F119-PW-100 American fighter F-22 are, respectively, 10,500 and 15,900 kg.

Nice :)

Hmmm... Very powerful... Hope this is also ready by the time we induct our first squad.

Considering 117 and 117s are at 4000 hours,,even rd-33mk is at 4000,,,this should be well>6000 at least.

Russian engines have less life time compared to western engines, i'll be happy even if they achieves >4000 hrs.

Beast!

176 KN of thrust :O . Even more thn F22 . I guess this Engine is only second to F-35 's Engine with 196 KN. Please correct me if I am wrong.

U are right but this will have t/w of 13:1 which will be superior to 11.2 of f-135 if all goes into plan.

Good thing
Perhaps we can even get this to power proposed AMCA

Some corrections F 119 PW has 39000 lb + thrust not 35000 lb. It is classified as 35000 lb class not 35000 lb.

LM gives a round off figure for engines used such as 41000 lb class for F 35A not 43000 lb for F 135.

Bill Sweetman and even design papers from 1997 on f 22 ( google documents) verify this.

Second it says 18% more efficient turbofan. Unlike western designers linking efficiency to fuel. Russians mean thrust.

Thus thrust of 117 = 147 Kn

Thrust of new engine Idezhye 30 = 147 *18/100 ~ 173 Kn !

Or average thrust value = ( 173 + 169)/2 = 171 Kn ! ( 15 - 18%)

If we discount upcoming F 35 engine of 47300 - 50000 lb ( Adept fan engine technology) this will be one of the most powerful engines outside western world!

Cheers! :)

Its a variable cycle engine too with t/w of >13.
